In an unprecedented manner, Smart Communications officially introduced
a new mobile service that is slated to be probably the best on-the-go companion
for Filipino travelers and its name RoamFree would sensibly fit its own
purpose.
Smart RoamFree is a mobile app that allows users to access any of the
21 partner apps and sites available before, during and after their out-of-country
travels without worrying about data charges. Users can book their own rides,
manage reservations, search for hot travel deals and more to their pleasure through
free access to the likes of Uber, Foodpanda, Airbnb, Agoda, Booking.com, TripAdvisor,
Google Maps and Google Translate among others.
The mobile service may be available for everyone, but Smart subscribers
who have downloaded and installed the app on their mobile device will automatically
receive 100 MB of free data allowance. Once the bonus data is consumed,
RoamFree users must either subscribe to a data roaming package or connect to
WiFi in order to continue the service. Take note that the app serves as a
portal to free services and you don't need to install any of the mobile apps
available on your device as long as they are on RoamFree.
RoamFree can be used in 26 countries including popular destinations
such as USA, Canada, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. It is
