More Filipino consumers are beginning to use their mobile devices to pay for their own purchases whether they are physically bought or via online shopping sites, which is where companies are exerting their efforts to embrace the new innovations and cope in consumers' modern demands. It looks like the trend would continue with The SM Store's newly-forged partnership with the Philippines' premiere digital payment services provider Paymaya.

Through the recently sealed deal, customers can now pay for their purchases in any SM Store without the need to bring cash on hand. In fact, all SM Store branches nationwide will make use of Paymaya's Scan-to-Pay technology where customers can use their mobile devices to scan QR codes on designated zones to make the cashless transaction.

Shoppers may need to download and install the Paymaya mobile app on their smartphones, sign up for an account, cash-in on any of Paymaya's partners, scan the special QR code situated in The SM Store's designated Mobile Pay zone after making the purchase, and you're done. As an added bonus, shoppers who are taking advantage of Paymaya's Scan-to-Pay QR payments system will receive a 10% discount on all purchases in The SM Store until April 18, 2018. Furthermore, they may have a chance to win an Apple iPhone X.

Cashless payments continue to gain traction for many Filipinos in today's modern world, and the Paymaya-SM deal is a fine example of how companies are able to cope well to every Filipino millennial's demands.
