On February 17, 2018, Chinese-based global tech and lifestyle products brand Xiaomi has officially opened its first physical store in the Philippines, and people can't get enough of the hype and anticipation as they flood the fifth floor of Trinoma Mall in Quezon City just to indulge in what would they consider an incredible moment.

And it didn't disappoint as its doors are opened for tech enthusiasts and even fans of the brand to look inside and take a peek at what is offered inside Xiaomi's first authorized reseller in the Philippines. Hold on, I've just said that Xiaomi's first official store in the Philippines is the brand's first locally authorized reseller meaning that it is not the first official Xiaomi store in our local shores. Well, there is a simple and understandable explanation for that.

You see, Xiaomi decides to take the liberty on following Apple's own strategy prior to its second coming in the Philippines. In fact, the Xiaomi stores that are set to open in our local shores soon will be like the more than between 20 and 30 branches of Power Mac Center considering that they will look and feel like a real official Xiaomi store and eventually offer their own range of services for customers which includes warranty. On its second foray in the Philippine market, Xiaomi has officially tapped Grimalkin Corporation to handle operations for these stores.

Anyway, there are many items available in Xiaomi's first store in the Philippines - from mobile devices and accessories to even appliances, luggages and backpacks, electric bicycles and foldable umbrellas. These offerd may be bizaare, but you may check them out for yourself if you want. Following its successful first store opening, Xiaomi and Grimalkin will open another store at SM Megamall which is poised to be the former's flagship store in the Philippines where it will be three times larger than Trinoma's.

Regardless of what you think about its new strategy, Xiaomi is back in the Philippines and assures that it will never repeat its mistakes two years ago. By the way, Xiaomi products are also available in authorized dealers all over the country if a Xiaomi store is not good for you. Just check out the list straight from my good friends at Unbox here.
