More Filipinos are starting to make the shift to digital terrestrial television with ABS-CBN TV Plus leading the market with over 5 million units sold in just three years and maintaining its stand as the first to bring the new technology to the Filipino masses where they can enjoy clearer picture and sound quality and exclusive programming on their television sets. But at the beginning of the new school year, a new and exciting product coming to our local shores is set to bring digital free TV to a different level of indulgement.

The continuing success of ABS-CBN TV Plus has pushed major television stations to develop a digital TV device that would surely delight Filipino viewing households and hopefully be at par with its competition in the DTT scene. While we're waiting for GMA Network's own DTT device to come in the coming weeks, it looks like Solar Entertainment Corporation has gone ahead and introduced its own digital free TV device that will already be out in the market by June, the EasyTV Super Digibox.

When it was first unveiled to the public via social media, I thought that EasyTV would initially be a DTT USB dongle that can be connected to any mobile device. However, those who have speculated that would be wrong as it will become available as a set-top box that can provide a clearer and more enjoyable television viewing experience. What's more interesting about the new digibox is that it has its own line of exclusive channels which is more than that of the ABS-CBN TV Plus and you would be surprised by what it offers if you consider buying the product.

Whether you can pre-order via Shop TV or purchase when it becomes available physically for an initial price of Php2,999, the EasyTV Super Digibox will give you a year of worry-free access to ETC, Jack TV, MTVph, Basketball TV, NBA Premium TV, Solar Sports, Shop TV, Aniplus, K+, History Channel, Outdoor Channel, Zee Sine, Gone Viral TV, ZooMoo and Boo. All you need to do is to activate your digibox via EasyTV.ph or the EasyTV mobile app on your smartphone or tablet PC. And if one year is not enough for you to satisfy your enjoyment, then you should renew your EasyTV subscription for just a thousand pesos with a single one to spare.

Well, with that in mind, it is all up to you whether you need something that can give you better and more enjoyable entertainment for your small screens or stick to the standard that would suit what every member of the family want to watch. By the way, the EasyTV Super Digibox will be initially available in Metro Manila starting June considering Solar is still testing its digital TV broadcast and it is assured that its availability in the market would expand in the next few months once digital free TV signals reach our surroundings.
