The Asian Television Awards (ATA), the most prestigious award-giving body that celebrates and honors the best in Asian television and digital content since its inception in 1996, has officially released the full list of nominees for its 2021 edition. There are a total of more than 300 nominations across 51 different programming, performance, technical and digital categories. The winners of these categories to be determined and selected by a distinguished panel of judges from across the regional entertainment industry will be announced on its Grand Awards Gala which will be held on December 10-11, 2021.
Leading the Philippines' roster of official nominees for the 2021 Asian Television Awards is the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) under the Office Of The President and the national government's flagship television station People's Television Network Inc. garnering the most number of nominations with PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar for Best News Presenter/Anchor as the lead anchor of the Philippine Broadcasting System's Network Briefing News, Office of Global Media and Public Affairs Undersecretary John Vincent Arcena for Best Current Affairs Presenter and Best Digital Host/Presenter, PCOO-OGMPA's "Laging Handa Dokyu" series of short but informative and inspiring documentaries featuring stories of frontliners and the government's efforts during the pandemic for Best Current Affairs Programme and its theme song "Ang Totoong Puso Ng Pinoy" for Best Theme Song and Best Music Video, and "Iskoolmates" for Best Talk Show.
The Asian Television Awards has also nominated TV5 and Cignal's comprehensive coverage of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with the theme "See Us Stronger" for Best Sports Coverage where Filipino viewers and sports enthusiasts witnessed the country's best performance and showing in the highly prestigious global sporting event headlined by the country's first Olympic gold medal in decades delivered via weightlifting sensation Hidilyn Diaz. After being hailed as the National Winner for Best Non-Scripted Entertainment at the 2021 Asian Academy Creative Awards, the original variety videoke game show "Sing Galing" produced by Cignal Entertainment and Cornerstone Studios and airs on TV5 scored another milestone by being nominated in the 2021 ATA for Best Adaptation Of An Existing Format. Veteran international news anchor Rico Hizon proves to be one of the best in the region anew when he and his nightly newscast "The Final Word With Rico Hizon" airing on CNN Philippines are nominated for Best News Presenter/Anchor and Best News Programme, respectively.
Synergy88 continues to reap recognitions and achievements from the international community with "Tish Tash" airing on EBS1 in Korea, CBeebies in the UK, ABC Kids in Australia and soon on POPTV Philippines scoring nominations for Best Children's Programme, Best Pre-School Programme, and Best 2D Animation Programme and "Barangay 143" Season 2 available for on-demand streaming on POPTV Philippines being nominated for Best 2D Animation Programme and Best Script Writing (Katski Flores, Erin Castro, Mike Dagnalan, Sal Bador, Volta Delos Santos). Other notable nominations to represent the Philippines in this year's ATA are the following:

* Best Branded Content: Maggi Kusinaserye Nakakatacooks (YouTube), Batang Matibay Suhel (YouTube)
The Grand Awards Gala for the 2021 Asian Television Awards will be streamed live on Facebook and slated to be aired on an undisclosed regional broadcast network that will cover and reach more than 200,000 households in 22 countries across Asia.
