The grand finale of the year-long search for outstanding amateur talent is considered a definitive genesis for ABS-CBN's long-running popular noontime variety show It's Showtime as it not only became a top trending topic on social media, but also dominated national ratings with a record nationwide rating for the show on that day.
The undisputed number one noontime show in the Philippines drew more viewers than its rival program, registering an all-time high national TV rating of 33.6% which is almost three times as high as Eat Bulaga's 11.7% based on data from Kantar Media. Meanwhile, about 40,000 people watched the grand showdown live via live streaming on ABS-CBN Entertainment's official Youtube channel, which is one of the highest numbers recorded by the network's website.
It's Showtime continues to showcase the best of Filipino talent with the launch of "Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids", a nationwide singing tilt featuring kids aged 7 to 13 years old.
