Who would have thought that the largest and most popular fastfood chain in the Philippines would come and support a less popular sport like rugby? Well, the beginning of the new partnership would eventually lead to positive results.

The Philippine Volcanoes and its female counterparts have bagged bronze at the recently concluded Southeast Asian 7s held in Singapore. Prior to last week's action, the Philippine Rugby Football Union signed a partnership deal with Jollibee Foods Corporation where both parties will collaborate to build awareness for the game, develop it and get kids involved in the sport.

The partnership is the beginning of many new things to come for the Philippine Rugby Football Union and the sport with the Philippine Volcanoes slowly starting to make an impact in our local shores with their success and achievements in various international competitions. Regardless of what any Filipino sports enthusiast thinks about this deal to all I care, all that matters is that the good about Jollibee supporting rugby in the Philippines is how would the partnership be able to benefit the sport in the near future.

Anyway, the Philippine Volcanoes are gearing up for the next international competition next month and all the way to this year's Southeast Asian Games, and it would seem that Jollibee would be there all the way with its dedication and commitment to make rugby a fast-rising popular sport in our local shores.
