After
being tapped as one of the best locations for box-office blockbuster hits such
as Transformers and The Martian, it is without question in the global movie
industry that China is poised to be the world's next Hollywood. And its newest
sci-fi action thriller Reset is taking movie buffs to a different level of Chinese
entertainment that no one would ever forget as it is produced by none other
than China's greatest entertainment export, Jackie Chan.
Presented
by New Clues Film, Huoerguosi Jaywalk Film and Media, Beijing Sparkle Roll
Media, August Entertainment and Beijing Ent365 Culture Media, Reset is a
big-budgeted, high-glossy Chinese production considering that it is the first
of that kind in a long while, but what makes the movie a rare cinematic event
for even the Western world to see is that it has given a unique Korean feel
which is interestingly intriguing for any movie critic to look at.
Anyway,
set in the year 2025, the movie revolves around Xia Tien (played by Chinese
superstar Yang Ming), a researcher who has worked on cracking the problem on
time travel. When ruthless terrorists headed by Tsui Hu (portrayed by Taiwanese
heartthrob Wallace Huo) kidnaps her son and demands to hand over the results of
the experiment, Tien is using an unfinished time machine and return to the past
to hopefully save her son from danger.
What
can Filipino movie buffs from the futuristic action film aside from the
thrilling story and intriguing twist? Well, watch the trailer here and you may
discover what it feels like to watch a next generation Jackie Chan action movie
on the big screens as well as a mother's struggles and sacrifices to protect
and save her son.
Reset
is showing in more than one hundred movie theaters nationwide on June 28, 2017
and it is distributed in the Philippines by Star Cinema by way of the movie's international distributor Golden Theatre.
