Netflix continues to boost its programming with its own slueth of original
content which is set to delight binge-watch buffs from different parts of the
globe, and it has already delivered some of the new and entertaining shows and
movies all the way through the end of the year for audiences watching at home
and on-the-go mobile devices. It is, however, disappointing that many pop
culture buffs are not enjoying what the global streaming service is offering
due to its pricing model.

However, there is a lot of engaging and highly-entertaining choices from
a wide library of original productions that cater to anyone who wants to be
either a binge-watch buff or a Netflix fanboy. With that in mind, here are the
new shows and movies that will make you feel like you want to be a Netflix fanboy.
Note that some of my recommendations are already available for online and
offline viewing for Netflix users.
1. Marvel's The Defenders
If you think you know every character in the Marvel Universe today,
then you are wrong. The new series brings four unfamiliar and underwhelming
Marvel characters in a new story set months after the events of some of their
stories that were aired on Netflix. Join Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist
and Luke Cage in their own battle against an evil organization known as The
Hand. They may not be as thrilling and exciting as The Avengers, but don't
underestimate what they can do to save the world.
2. Stranger Things Season 2
This bizaare sci-fi drama has already taken viewers to a worlds that no
one can imagine throughout its first season, and the second season of Stranger
Things is no different except for what you are going to see beyond your own
expectations. And speaking of Stranger Things, some of its stars are coming to
Manila at the Asia Pop Comicon 2017 on August 25-27, 2017 just to interact with
the fans prior to the start of Season 2.
3. Death Note
I've watched the Death Note anime a few times and enjoyed how the main
character used the Death Note notebook to change the world with the good guys
having to struggle all the way to catch Kira, and the Netflix-exclusive movie
is no exception. The only problem is that the movie receive mixed reactions
from critics and pop culture buffs even before it becomes available. If you
watch Death Note, then you know the plot and conclusion of the story.
4. Voltron: Legendary
Defender
Any pop culture fan should love to watch and enjoy the new iteration of
the globally popular Japanese mecha anime which was popularized in the 80s, and
you should anticipate everything that will happen on the next two seasons of Legendary
Defender. The third season is already on the way, so you should wait for the
fourth season within the holidays.
5. Glitter Force Doki Doki
I admit I am not a huge fan of the Pretty Cure series. It is good to know
that the series makes its return to global prominence and eventually rebranded
as Glitter Force. Well, I'm still not buying due to the outcome of the first season
and the fact that its follow-up never made it to our local shores. If you have
feelings for female anime superheroes, then the glamour and fun of Glitter
Force Doki Doki should be the right show for you.
Oh, and if you want to get a glimpse of what you are going to binge-watch on Netflix, then you should visit its booth at the Asia Pop Comicon Manila 2017 on August 25-27, 2017 and be astounded by its interactive experience featuring some of the service's much-awaited shows and films. Anyway, happy binge-viewing to every pop-loving trubist out there!!
