One of the many memes that interpret viewers' delightment over Angel Locsin's return in La Luna Sangre as Jhacinta Magsaysay. Oh, and by the way, this is from Ruffa Gutierrez's Twitter account if you ask me.(Image Source: Philstar.com)
The shocking, surprising and unexpected return of Angel Locsin in the top-rating primetime action fantasy drama series La Luna Sangre has literally taken over social media by storm pitting alongside other top trending topics such as the upcoming Bruno Mars concert in Manila next year and others. This twist that recently shook Philippine television near its core becomes a possible breaking point of what viewers are expecting from the show.

Viewers and netizens alike may have remembered Locsin's portrayal of Lia in the earlier parts of the series where she and her husband Mateo (played by John Lloyd Cruz) were killed by the marked vampire king Sandrino (played by Richard Gutierrez). Now, Angel made her return in dramatic fashion as the mysterious political adviser Jhacinta Magsaysay who will assist Sandrino aka Gilbert Imperial in his presidential campaign. This made many curious about her involvement in the coming weeks and they should look forward to.

But Angel is not the only one who shocked us all with her return. Many are taking advantage of social media to praise lead female star Kathryn Bernardo for her wonderful and emotional performance during some of the scenes where she was tortured and eventually shot to her falling doom by policemen controlled by the vampire king. I'm sure some will doubt that Malia will succumb to her own death, but I can assure that what happens next will shock and surprise you even more.

With everything that is happening recently, all I can say is that La Luna Sangre is one that should not be underestimated by local pop culture buffs. With unpredictable and unexpected twists like the ones mentioned, La Luna Sangre may possible be local television's own Game Of Thrones set in today's modern world.

Catch more of La Luna Sangre weeknights after FPJ's Ang Probinsyano on ABS-CBN channel 2 on free TV and ABS-CBN HD for Sky and Destiny Cable subscribers.
