The best high school basketball players in the Philippines have already
fortified and cemented their place in the ranks, and it is time for these young
guns to showcase their own skills as they will be duking out and giving
everything they offer in the 2018 National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) All-Star
Game which is slated to be held on March 23, 2018 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
The all-star game is the culmination of the center's eight-week ranking
process now supported by popular Filipino consumer brand Chooks To Go where the
top 24 high school players were determined by a special group of analysts
consisting of coaches, sportswriters and a statistician based on their
performance in their respective leagues. Those in the final rankings were then
drafted into two teams, namely Team Cherifer Heart helmed by Valenzuela Classic
tactician Chris Gavina and Team Cherifer Hustle coached by Lyceum head coach
Topex Robinson.
In the all-star draft held last March 8th, the number one ranked player
Kai Sotto from Ateneo de Manila High School will be leading Cherifer Hustle as
team captain while La Salle Greenhills' Joel Cagulangan is set to guide Team
Cherifer Heart to victory. They were both picked by their respective head coaches
and have led their schools to championship glory in UAAP season 80 and NCAA season
93 respectively as juniors' basketball finals MVPs.
With that in mind, here are the rest of the players who will be joining
Sotto and Cagulangan in their respective teams. Keep in mind that these are the
top ranked high school basketball players in the country based on the NBTC's
final ranking process.
