The
Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is kicking off a promising new season in 2019 with
a fun and highly-competitive showdown between some of the biggest names in
Philippine volleyball. The 2019 PVL All-Star Game, which will take place on
February 2, 2019 at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City, will have two
teams headlined by two-time champion and reigning Open Conference MVP Alyssa
Valdez of the Creamline Cool Smashers and former Pocari Sweat-Philippine Air
Force star Myla Pablo.
Joining
Valdez’s squad are Deanna Wong, Maddie Madayag and Dani Ravena of Ateneo de
Manila University; Chie Saet and Jessey De Leon of PetroGazz; Creamline’s
Michele Gumabao, Mel Gohing and Risa Sato; BanKo’s Nicole Tiamzon and Kathy
Bersola, Grazielle Bombita of Iriga-Navy and Isa Molde of University of the
Philippines. PetroGazz head coach Jerry Yee will handle the team with Adamson
mentor Air Padda as his assistant. Meanwhile, backing up Pablo are Creamline’s
Jia Morado and Jema Galanza; Jem Ferrer and Joy Dacoron of BanKo; Ateneo’s Kat
Tolentino, Vanessa Gandler and Bea De Leon; Jonah Sabete and Cherry Nunag of
PetroGazz; Tacloban’s Dimdim Pacres; Dell Palomata of Pocari Sweat-Air Force;
and Thang Ponce of Adamson-Akari. Ateneo head coach Oliver Almadro will call
the shots for the team with Jasper Jimenez of Pocari Sweat-Air Force as his
assistant.
The
game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm and it will be aired live on ABS-CBN S+A,
S+A HD (Skycable HD channel 167, SkyDirect channel 24), LIGA (Skycable SD channel
86 and HD channel 183, SkyDirect channel 14) and via online live streaming on iWant,
sports.abs-cbn.com, and ABS-CBN
Sports' official YouTube channel. There will be an autograph signing and skills
games with the fans before the start of the game.
