Two years ago, premiere Philippine eSports team TNC entered the inaugural World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) and eventually came out victorious as the DOTA 2 champion. Fast forward to 2019, after a one-year hiatus, TNC returned to the WESG stage which took place in Chongqing, China and conquered once again over some of the best professional gaming teams in Asia and around the world as a two-time DOTA 2 tournament champion.

The team competed in the WESG DOTA 2 stage is comprised of some of the finest professional gamers hailing from different parts of our own local shores which include Timothy Randrup, Armel Paul Tabios, Kim Villafuerte Santos, Nico Barcelon and Marc Polo Luis Fausto who was a replacement for team captain Carlo "Kuku" Palad who is currently banned in Chongqing for hurling a racial insult at a Chinese player back at late 2018. Despite the challenges that surround them, TNC has managed to overcome these hindrances and was able to defeat China's Keen Gaming, 2-0, in the championship round of the WESG DOTA 2 tournament leading them to their second crown in what is dubbed as the Olympics of eSports.

Prior to its second championship crown, it was a force to be reckoned with among other participating teams in the DOTA 2 tourney considering that no opposing team hasn't been able to crack the undefeated streak of the Filipino spirit all throughout the course of the competition, not even Team Canarinho of Brazil and Russia's White-Off. Taking home the grand cash prize of US$500,000, it is already written among some of the biggest victories for TNC since its inception in the international pro gaming stage. In fact, their winnings at WESG 2019 is regarded as the team's third largest prize won ever next to its 7th-8th place finish in The International 2016 (US$519,262) and their first WESG DOTA 2 championship title (US$800,000).

I'm sure that a delightfully satisfying number of Filipino pro gaming buffs were able to follow the journey of TNC and other favorite teams on their mobile devices with NIMO TV in partnership with AliSports as the official broadcast partner for the 2019 World Electronic Sports Games.
