Have
you watched Record Rides on National Geographic Channel lately? In case you haven't
or didn't know about it, it is a two-part special being aired across Asia documenting
Filipino radio jock KC Montero and Jamaican-Chinese professional female race
car driver Natasha Chang racing against each other towards the top of Doi Chang
Mountain in Thailand using only their everyday car. Now you may think that this
is obviously a simple race between two different personalities all wrapped up in
one less intriguing documentary, but Record Rides is more than just simple car
racing and it's beyond anyone's thoughts.
Natasha
Chang won the race after ascending throughout the Doi Chang mountain Road,
Thailand's highest peak located in Chiang Rai which is the historical capital
of the old Lanna Kingdom, in under six minutes and 52.692 seconds using a car
powered by Caltex with Techron fuel. It would eventually break a world record
set by the Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest 1000 meter ascent up Doi
Chang Mountain Road in under seven minutes. To make it simple, Record Rides on
National Geographic showcases and demonstrates how a world-class fuel like
Caltex with Techron could power record-breaking feats considering that it is
part of Caltex's Fuel Power Challenge.
To
make even an ordinary everyday car perform at maximized power, its engine
requires an unrestricted air and fuel delivery which cannot happen when deposits
are in the intake valves and port fuel injectors. Techron's unique chemistry is
proven to remove and protect an engine from deposits in these critical areas. Caltex
with Techron also features Clean and Glide technology reformulated in 2016 to
reduce friction and deliver enhanced engine protection, improved fuel economy
and maximized power over time. It has proven to be effective as stated in the
results of a 2017 boroscope test where Caltex with Techron bested other fuels
in engine cleanliness. With these in mind and a succsssful world record attempt
written in the books, Caltex will continue to improve its products in preparation
for future engine technology innovations and stay committed to its innovation
strides in its desire to meet the ever changing needs of motorists and assure
them of a more memorable journey.
On
the other hand, Caltex officially introduced renouned Filipino actor, film producer,
TV host and multi-brand endorser Dingdong Dantes as its new brand ambassador
which is said to be the perfect embodiment of the brand's philosophy and
tagline "Enjoy The Journey" as well as its personality of being positive,
friendly, genuine and encouragement according to Caltex Philippines Inc. (CPI) country
chairman Louie Zhang. He co-owns a car dealership in ParaƱaque, manages his own
studio AgostoDos Pictures and is the founding chairman of the YesPinoy
Foundation. Aside from these, Dingdong is also a loving husband and father of
two kids.
