Rev
Major Philippines, the premiere fighting video game tournament in the country,
is all set for the staging of its third season and it will all take place
inside The Tent at Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City on September
28-29, 2019 where the toughest fighting game players from different parts of
the country will do battle and compete for pride and glory in a larger and more
exciting battlefield.
The
third season of Rev Major Philippines will be comprising of twelve tournaments
featuring some of the finest fighting games that are making waves in our local
shores and around the world. These include Tekken 7, Dragon Ball FighterZ,
Street Fighter V, Soulcalibur VI, Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, Super
Smash Brothers Ultimate, King of Fighters XIV, Samurai Shodown, Mortal Kombat
11, Blazblue Cross Tag Battle, Guilty Gear XRD REV 2 and Underline InBirth EXE
Late {st}. But some of these tournaments are more than just for pride and
glory.
For
the third time, the Rev Major Philippines' Tekken 7 tournament will be a Tekken
World Tour master event which will be graced by some of the best Tekken players
in the world. The winner of the event will earn 300 points and possibly a
chance to earn a spot in the TWT rankings. On the other hand, Rev Major PH's Dragon
Ball FighterZ tournament will be a Tenkaichi event where the winner earns 200
points added to the rankings and a chance to participate in the upcoming Dragon
Ball FighterZ World Championship in France while the Street Fighter V tournament
champion will represent the Philippines in the Red Bull Kumite Last Chance
Qualifier which will be held in Japan on November.
Aside
from the series of fighting game tournaments, spectators and fighting game enthusiasts
can indulge and take part in a bevy of side and community events throughout the
affair such as side tournaments featuring Ranida Games' Bayani, a mobile fighting
game where players play as their favorite heroes from Philippine history, Ultimate
Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite and Vampire Savior among others
from various local fighting game communities as well as Tito Steff's Retro Game
Corner showcasing a wide array of retro fighting games for anyone to try out.
