Remember the iconic game "Pera o Bayong" from the classic
ABS-CBN noontime show in the late 90s and early 2000s "Magandang Tanghali
Bayan"? Well, it has officially made its comeback but not on national
television. Instead, everyone can take part, have fun and win big in the iconic
game on their smartphones via the Kumu app.
Yes, like it or not, "Pera o Bayong" is now a digital game show
which has been enjoyed by many Filipinos on the popular social networking and
live streaming application from October 28 to November 8, 2019. Expect more fun
and exciting prizes on the show's second season every Monday to Friday at 8 pm
beginning November 18 on Kumu and MOR stations across the provinces and outside
Metro Manila hosted by MOR Davao DJ Kokoy Martin.
In the first round, contestants need to answer a variety of travel
questions. Those who have answered the correct answers to these questions will
win cash to be shared depending on how many got it right and can have a chance
to move on to the next round via raffle. In the final round, the chosen player
will choose one from three bayongs displayed
on screen much like the old "Pera o Bayong" on television. The host
will then offer the player cash in place of the chosen bayong and the prize inside.
Made possible by ABS-CBN Regional, it was ABS-CBN employee Paulo Braganza
who pitched the idea of bringing the iconic game to digital following the
strong traction of online game shows and quizzes in the country. "Pera o
Bayong" on Kumu and provincial MOR stations nationwide is part of ABS-CBN's
projects in its continuing transition to a full-pledged digital company in the
Philippines.
