This year marks the first time that Asia's phenomenal superstar Vice Ganda will not be recognized in the Box Office Entertainment Awards. The It's Showtime and Gandang Gabi Vice host has been a recipient of the Phenomenal Box Office Star award since its inception in 2003 due to the phenomenal success of his films in local cinemas through the years. Prior to the creation of the said award, the Box Office King and Queen were the highest recognitions in the Box Office Entertainment Awards. Speaking of the Box Office King and Queen of the Year award, it belongs to Aga Muhlach and Xia Vigor which have captivated and warmed the audiences in the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival top grosser Miracle In Cell No. 7.
Both Aga Muhlach and Alden Richards are also hailed as Film Actors of the Year while Kathryn Bernardo wins Film Actress of the Year. On the other hand, the reel-and-real life couple of Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano is being chosen as Prince and Princess of Philippine Movies because of the box-office success of their 2019 movie Alone Together.
