As more Filipinos are starting to adapt to the new normal due to the continuing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses are compelled to innovate and deliver new ways for everyone to experience what they always want to enjoy and, fortunately, among them is recapturing the essence and joy of watching a movie inside the halls of a cinema. Since movie theaters are yet to be back on track, SM Cinema gives moviegoers the perfect opportunity to see upcoming films but within the comforts of their cars with the opening of its first drive-in cinema in the Philippines last July 31, 2020.

Open to the general public at SM City Pampanga Amphitheater featuring the movies "Train To Busan 2: Peninsula" and "My Spy" and a throwback to the good old days of drive-in theaters in the past, SM Cinema's "Movies At Sundown" allows movie buffs to enjoy the latest and hottest on the big screen while observing and practicing social distancing rules set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), reliving the experience for a new generation to enjoy and bringing them a fresh avenue for a #SafeAndFunMovieWatching crusade inside the safe comforts of their cars.

For an intriguing ticket price of Php400 per person, moviegoers can relish in a new cinematic experience like no other. They will be assigned their own parking spot to be guided by traffic marshalls. Once settled, spectators can see their preferred film on a 20 x 8 meter screen raised three feet above the ground and will be asked to tune in to a specific frequency on their car's FM radio to broadcast the audio straight into their vehicles. What about snacks? Well, your unique movie watching experience sundown will be paired with free Regular Popcorn, Beef Franks and bottled water from SnackTime. Speaking of sundown, schedules for the movies to be shown in the drive-in will be every Thursdays to Sundays at 6:45 pm.

Optimizing the best view, at least two persons or a maximum of four guests inside the car will be allowed. They must be between the ages of 21 and 59 years old, pursuant to the safety guidelines set by the IATF. For added safety, viewers will be asked to stay inside their vehicles with their face masks on and practice social distancing throughout the duration of the movie. Tickets for SM Cinema's "Movies At Sundown" must be purchased in advance online at www.smcinema.com to ensure an uninterrupted movie viewing experience. No tickets will be sold at the venue and viewers are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled screening.

Now available at SM City Pampanga and coming soon in five other branches nationwide, SM Cinema brings back the joy of watching the hottest and highly-anticipated movies on the big screens to its audiences with SM Cinema Drive-In: Movies At Sundown as a new way for them to catch their blockbuster favorites considering that drive-in cinemas are now allowed to operate as different parts of the country are under various degrees of community quarantine.
