On The Radar: ASEAN Music Showcase Festival, YouTube Super Stream In PH

The ASEAN Music Showcase Festival is set to launch its inaugural edition online with the goal of creating a platform elevating the Southeast Asian music scene onto the global stage. Founded by concert and festival promoters, conference organizers and music community influencers from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines, AMS is taking on the challenge of providing networking opportunities for emerging artists in Asia and global music industry leaders while hurdling the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic through a virtual music gathering that celebrates the region's finest.
On its debut year, the collaborative showcase festival presents a diverse lineup of artists handpicked by its founding members, namely: Singapore's SGMUSO; Thailand's Bangkok Music City co-founded by Fungjai Co. Ltd. and NYLON Thailand; Malaysia's City ROARS! Festival; Indonesia's SRM; and the Philippines' The Rest Is Noise PH. These participating artists include the following:

* Singapore: Linying, Marian Carmel, Coming Up Roses, J.M3
* Thailand: TONTRAKUL, Valentina Ploy, STOIC, H 3 F
* Malaysia: Bayangan, Buddha Beat, Golden Mammoth, mutesite
* Indonesia: Tanayu, bangkutaman, Rangkai, Oslo Ibrahim
* Philippines: Pikoy, Cheats, Uprising Records Artists, August Wahh

The ASEAN Music Showcase Festival is slated to hit the digital space from September 19-22, 2020 and will be streamed live online for the world to discover. Aside from the virtual music showcase featuring artists of various genres, AMS will be hosting a private virtual meet with some of the biggest and most promising music industry professionals around the world as well as up-and-coming and established artists in Asia.

YouTube has collaborated with several media partners to bring Super Stream to the Philippine digital space providing millions of users free access to a wide range of some of the country's favorite and well-loved video contents across various different genres for a limited time only. From now until September 26, YouTube users can enjoy binge-watching more than 300 hours of binge-worthy content from the likes of ABS-CBN, GMA Network, TBA Studios, One Sports, ONE Championship and DAZN among others. These include local blockbuster movies, hit TV series, romantic flicks, historic sporting events and matches, inspiring documentaries and more.

"Every day, Filipinos go to YouTube to learn, share their passions or be entertained. As people limit going out to remain well, we want to make staying safe at home better by introducing Super Stream so everyone can access movies, TV shows and more for free," said Google Philippines Marketing Head Gabby Roxas. "Whether it is a box office hit, classic TV show, sports event or documentary, there is Super Stream content for entertainment needs on top of the YouTube videos from their favorite content creators." GMA Artist Center (GMAAC), the talent management arm of the Philippines' largest broadcasting network GMA Network, has proved its social media dominance when digital marketing company SocialBakers released its statistics for the first half of 2020 and named GMAAC as the most engaging brand on Instagram and the fifth on Facebook in the country. Now, GMAAC aims to strengthen its social media presence through its newly-launched YouTube channel.

Promising to connect netizens with the artists through meaningful virtual interaction, GMA Artist Center continues to create a wide range of fresh, original and exciting content for its YouTube channel. These include "In The Limelight" where viewers can get to know more about their favorite Kapuso stars; the weekly live fan meet "Hang Out"; and "Cool Hub" - hosted by Yasser Marta, Myrtle Sarrosa, Manolo Petrosa, and Ayra Mariano - which features the different collections of the stars. Also available on YouTube - already on their second season - are the talk show Just In! hosted by Paolo Contis and Vaness Del Moral, the game show Quiz Beh! hosted by Betong Sumaya, and the online dating show E-Date Mo Si Idol now hosted by Mike "Pekto" Nacua.
