With stories continuing to inspire during a most challenging year, every Filipino's Sunday night viewing habit - GMA Network's Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (One At Heart, Jessica Soho) - becomes the most watched television program nationwide with an average People's Rating of 20.6% (January-December 2020) based on AGB Nielsen Philippines' National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) ratings data for 2020. It also has 21 million followers on its official Facebook page and more than 1.7 billion views for its online videos while the show and its topics have been consistently trending every week.
But beyond these numbers, KMJS has been most proud of uplifting the spirit of Filipino viewers during the pandemic with stories that showcased the heroism and generosity of health workers, frontliners and even ordinary Filipinos doing their best to survive while helping others to the best of their ability and resources. At the onset of the community quarantine, KMJS was one of the few local television shows that immediately aired fresh episodes to provide relevant information on COVID-19 and its effects on Filipinos in and out of the country. Eventually, the program has been extending financial assistance to those in need which started on June of last year. Its stories about Filipino going through difficult and challenging times have also helped the show generate substantial donations to those in need.
"2020 may have been the most difficult year but it has also been a most remarkable one. We saw the best in us during this crisis. It is a privilege to share stories of Filipinos who shine through during the darkest of times. Our heartfelt thanks to our viewers who have made us their favorite kakwentuhan and weekly family bonding time," said the show's host and GMA News and Public Affairs pillar Jessica Soho. KMJS is the longest-running weekly news magazine program in the Philippines. The show has won a George Foster Peabody Award and a Bronze Medal in the New York Festivals - International Film And TV Awards and was elevated to the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) Hall Of Fame. In 2020, the show was hailed as a National Winner for the third consecutive year in a row in the Infotainment category of the Asian Creative Academy Awards.
