After returning to action late last year with #TheRestart followed by its first marquee event to kick off the new year entitled Kings Of Colosseum, professional wrestling's fastest-rising company Major League Wrestling (MLW) is set to stage its second marquee event for the year dubbed Never Say Never on March 31, 2021 and wrestling fans will bear witness to the said event as a special one-hour episode of MLW's weekly flagship program Fusion at 7:00 pm ET (April 1, Maundy Thursday, 7:00 am Philippine time) on DAZN, Fubo Sports Network, Roku, Pluto TV, beIN Sports USA for US TV viewers, beIN Sports En EspaƱol for Latin American TV viewers living in the US, and MLW's official YouTube channel.
Headlining this year's edition of MLW Never Say Never as its main event will be undefeated newcomer Calvin Tankman challenging defending champion Jacob Fatu of CONTRA Unit for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship. Tankman has taken MLW by storm since debuting in October 2020. Dominating the competition, Tankman has recently marched himself towards the Top 10 rankings which have turned the heads of wrestling fans, critics and journalists alike leading to their thoughts of a potential clash with the Samoan werewolf. “This is a dream match,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer. “These are two of the most evenly matched, most athletic and dangerous heavyweights in the sport. All eyes will be on Fatu and Tankman when they rumble for the belt March 31.”
On the other hand, Fatu will enter the high-stakes world championship bout as the longest reigning World Heavyweight Champion in the league's history. Since winning the title in Chicago over "Filthy" Tom Lawlor at MLW Kings Of Colosseum 2019, Fatu has vanquished his opponents from different parts of the globe and eventually cleared out a significant portion of the Top 10 ranked contenders. The bout was set in motion following a post-match altercation between CONTRA Unit and Injustice, which saw Fatu and his fellow soldiers stuff Myron Reed and Jordan Oliver into body bags. With Injustice's days seemingly numbered, the 355-pound Tankman rushed to the scene and rocked Fatu in a manner never before seen.
Will the undefeated 355-pound juggernaut Tankman be able to topple CONTRA's kingpin and make history as not only the new MLW World Heavyweight Champion, but also the first to take down and defeat the Samoan werewolf? Or, will Fatu stuff another challenger and remain on the top of the MLW food chain as the World Heavyweight Champion?
