GMA Regional TV further strengthens its presence in North Central Luzon as it becomes available to more viewers in the said region. The regional arm of Philippine broadcasting giant GMA Network stays true to its campaign "Local News Matters" by bringing its award-winning and top-rating unified weekday newscast GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan and unified weekday morning show Mornings With GMA Regional TV closer to more Kapuso viewers in Zambales, Aurora, Isabela and Cagayan Valley. This widens the reach of GMA Regional TV in North Central Luzon which already has local channels in Abra, Benguet, Nueva Ecija, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Tarlac and Pampanga.
“We are proud to share with our Kapuso viewers that their favorite local programs are now available in more areas in North Central Luzon,” said GMA Regional TV and Synergy First Vice President and Head Oliver Victor Amoroso. “This year, we remain steadfast in our commitment to deliver news and information to our Kapuso all over the country. We began with the launch of our newest flagship local weekday newscast in Bicol—GMA Regional TV Balitang Bicolandia—last February. Now, we have ‘GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan’ and ‘Mornings with GMA Regional TV’ being aired in more areas in North Central Luzon. We are not stopping here as we continue to serve local communities, through our local programs and various initiatives, all over the Philippines,” he added.
Airing weekdays at 5:00 pm, GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan is anchored by seasoned television journalists CJ Torida, Joanne Ponsoy and Jasmin Gabriel-Galban. Providing reports are local news correspondents King Guevarra, Russel Simorio, Claire Lacanilao and Ivy Hernando as well as local news stringers across the region. GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan remains as the leading local newscast with an enormous 170 percent viewership increase in Metro Dagupan in 2020. On the other hand, Ara Hanesh hosts Mornings With GMA Regional TV which was launched last year amidst trying times brought about by the pandemic. Airing weekdays at 8:00 am, the morning show offers viewers information and stories tailored to fit the needs and interests of viewers in North Central Luzon through various segments.
GMA Regional TV's unparalleled commitment to producing news programs and specials that are attuned to the stories, voices and viewership in the regions has earned the trust of Filipino viewers in the country. In 2020, GMA RTV' morning shows and local newscasts garnered a combined reach of about 64 percent of the total number of television households in the Philippines with an estimated total of 46.8 million viewers based on Nielsen Philippines TV Audience Measurement's Total Philippines data from January to December 2020. Also in 2020 and for the fourth time in a row, GMA RTV was named Best Regional TV Station at the Platinum Stallion National Media Awards. Its official YouTube channel receives the Silver Play Button award after reaching the 100,000 subscriber mark on the video sharing platform.
