ONE Championship, the largest mixed martial arts (MMA) organization in Asia and the most valuable global sports media property in Asian history, has officially launched its "#StopAsianHate x #WeAreONE" campaign which comprises a series of initiatives that would help raise awareness and money for the "Stop Asian Hate" movement and GoFundMe's "Support The AAPI Community Fund. With a US$1.5 million investment to various initiatives and programs, the campaign aims to combat the recent surge in hate crimes against the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community and other at-risk communities across the United States of America.
ONE kicked off the "#StopAsianHate x #WeAreONE" campaign with the release of the first of its monthly video public service announcements regarding the AAPI community which was first aired in American television via ONE On TNT I on April 7 and can be viewed on ONE's broadcast and digital channels as well as the limited edition Stop Asian Hate Tee shirt paying tribute to victims of violent anti-Asian attacks on ONE.SHOP, the official online store of ONE Championship, with more merchandise to follow every month. In the coming weeks and months, ONE is set to launch a martial arts self-defense program in major metropolitan cities across the US. On the other hand, the world's largest online university for martial arts Evolve University will offer a free 12-month subscription to 1,000 families in America affected by hate crimes or discrimination.
“It is truly heartbreaking for me to see the Asian-American community suffering from hatred, violence, and discrimination. We strive to be an active ally in this cause, standing against racism towards Asians and all people. With our global audience and platform in America with the ‘ONE on TNT’ event series, we are well-positioned to bring communities together for this important cause," said ONE Championship founder, chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong who will be personally donating US$100,000 in cash to the "Stop Asian Hate" campaign.
