Former US secret agent Alex Walker is the newest crime-busting hero in Philippine television that gives hope and inspiration to Filipino viewers by helping local cops catch the bad guys. He also happens to be the main character of the American TV drama series "Almost Paradise", the first to be shot entirely in the Philippines. Produced by Electric Entertainment led by Filipino-American CEO and producer of international box office blockbusters Dean Devlin with ABS-CBN Entertainment, the series airs every Sunday night at 8:45 pm on Kapamilya Channel and A2Z with live and on-demand streaming on iWantTFC and Kapamilya Online Live on Facebook and YouTube.
The series is the first foray of the premiere media and entertainment company in the Philippines into Hollywood production as it continues to bring its programs to international audiences in efforts to make Filipino content recognized worldwide. ABS-CBN Entertainment served as the line production team for the American crime drama that aired first in the United States via WGN America. Fortunately, "Almost Paradise" was shot prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and viewers have eventually got to see the gorgeous landscape and seascape of Mactan in Cebu which became a perfect backdrop for the show topbilled by Christian Kane as Alex Walker.
Filipino viewers should also be proud of the undeniable fact that "Almost Paradise" is a source of Filipino pride because it showcases the talent of Filipino filmmakers and actors. In fact, the series has a special Filipino touch imbued on it with an all-Filipino staff and crew; several episodes helmed by four renouned local filmmakers including Dan Villegas, Francis Dela Torre, Hannah Espia and Irene Villamor; and an all-star ensemble of award-winning Filipino actors led by Nonie Buencamino portraying as Police Chief Ike Okampo, Art Acuña playing as Detective Ernesto Alamares and Samantha Richelle as Detective Kai Mendoza. Furthermore, the stories in every episode of the series provides a sneak peek at the culture and lifestyle of Filipinos such as hospitality and a boodle fight among others.
Don't miss out on the great mix of action, comedy, drama and a taste of the Filipino spirit in the last few episodes of "Almost Paradise" on May 16 and 23 at 8:45 pm on Kapamilya Channel (SKYcable SD channel 8 and HD channel 167, Cignal/Satlite channel 22) and A2Z (analog free TV channel 11 and digital free TV frequency 509.143 in Mega Manila and parts of nearby provinces, SKYcable channel 11, Cignal/Satlite channel 20, Cignal Play).
