Asia's first satellite event gamescom Asia is set to take place in Singapore on October 14-17, 2021 and it will be reimagined in a hybrid format, focusing around three major showcases. According to a statement released by event organizer Koelnmesse Singapore, the event will comprise of a trade conference, a virtual trade zone and a virtual entertainment zone.
With a lineup of over 100 industry experts, the trade conference entitled "Games 360 & Mobile Gaming Summit" will see attendees from different parts of the globe gaining greater insights in and around Asia while the virtual Trade Zone will feature corporate and product presentations, an exhibitor's area and business matchmaking that are sure to cater industry professionals who wish to meet and network with each other. And then there is the virtual entertainment zone with game publishers and developers slated to showcase the latest and upcoming game titles as well as indies, demos, interviews and more. The three-day hybrid event will kick off with "gamescom Asia PRIMETIME" which will highlight what to come throughout the weekend.
The hybrid conference will have both live-stage and live-stream broadcast simultaneously, with an agenda planned with talks available on-demand to accommodate all time zones. For the time being, the in-person segment is only exclusive to industry professionals based in Singapore due to the continuing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. Once restrictions are eased and new measures are in place, then trade attendees from other countries could possibly be accommodated. Within the virtual trade zone, companies can look forward to a broad digital B2B offering through a variety of talk sessions, interactive match-making and networking opportunities, a digital exhibitor's area and improved data-driven lead generation.
The virtual entertainment zone will allow everyone from Southeast Asia and around the world to tune in to the event. Gamescom Asia will work with media, content creators, platforms and hosting watch parties to ensure high viewership. The entertainment zone will be available on major streaming platforms with co-streaming to be possibly available. Koelnmesse Singapore managing director Mathias Kuepper stated that the hybrid event will serve as a prelude to next year's convention where it will have a better opportunity to hold a fully physical event and embrace international travel. More details on gamescom Asia 2021 including confirmed partners, programme schedules and access info will be announced in the coming months prior to the actual event.
