GMA Now, GMA Network's mobile on-the-go digital television receiver, levels up the mobile television viewing experience of its users with new features and improvements to make their interactive TV viewing on-the-go more enjoyable. Since GMA Now's launch last February, GMA Network's digital media and technology arm GMA New Media Inc. (NMI) has been constantly developing additions to the mobile dongle that enhance the user experience not only for digital terrestrial television but also in its Over-The-Top (OTT) and interactive components.
GMA Now users can now save and share clips of your favorite Kapuso programs with the new Screen Recorder feature. To activate, simply tap the record button on the TV player and tap the required permissions. Recorded clips will automatically be stored in the phone's gallery. The smartphone used should have at least 100 MB of free storage in order to record. Another new feature is the Picture-In-Picture (PIP) mode that allows users to multitask while enjoying GMA's news, public affairs and entertainment programs. As users switch to other apps while watching, the GMA Now TV Player automatically floats above the other apps to enable continuous television viewing.
On top of these exciting new features, GMA Now also further enhanced its existing features. The full episode videos of Kapuso shows are now available on the newly redesigned Videos tab while the Groupee Chat is now made more fun and interactive with Groupee stickers. Users can enjoy these new and enhanced features by updating their GMA Now app on Google Play and Apple App Store. Picture-In-Picture mode required Android 8.0 Oreo OS and above. On the other hand, those who are yet to purchase their own GMA Now device can now purchase it at a special retail price of Php599 in stores where GMA Now is available until October 27, 2021.
