The Razer Invitational is back in Southeast Asia (SEA) for 2022. It will feature two different formats: National Showdown and Open Category. Razer is inviting experts, athletes, and industry leaders to participate in the Masterclass Session wherein we can learn more about gaming, wellness, and the eSports industry. The Razer Invitational SEA will be opened to the entirety of the Southeast Asian gaming community regardless of skill level. The titles that will be featured are the same as in the 31st Southeast Asian Games which is Mobile Legends and PUBG Mobile. The tournament will start on the 14th of February until the 27th of the same month. The prize money amounts to US$30,000 which will be given to the winners.
“The Razer Invitational has always been our commitment to offer inclusive gaming opportunities to the incredibly supportive Southeast Asian community, while preparing them for the SEA games. Staying true to that mission, this year we’re offering more gamers the potential to make a name for themselves on the world’s stage, while also giving them the support they need through the addition of master class sessions to hone their skills and engage in healthier gaming habits as part of our Champions Start From Within initiative," says Razer's Director Of Global eSports Flo Gutierrez. The first ever Razer Invitational SEA garnered over 10.5 million views and 67 million social impressions, and for this year, viewers can expect more to tune into as this will be once again supported by Tier One Entertainment, one of the leading gaming and eSports talent agencies in Southeast Asia.
Authorized by the newly formed Southeast Asian eSports Federation (SEAEF), the National Showdown will feature the designated national teams who will battle it out in the upcoming 31st Southeast Asian Games that will be held in Vietnam this coming May. “We are honored that Razer’s vision and direction for the development of esports in Southeast Asia are very much aligned with SEAEF’s, and that Razer recognizes the growth and opportunity of eSports in the region. SEAEF is proud to be sanctioning the Razer Invitational – SEA 2022 and will be sending the best eSports athletes with the support of each SEAEF founding country member to participate in this event," said SEAEF Acting General Secretary Samart Benjamin Assarasakorn.
Registrations for the tournament are now opened and interested players from across the region can register online at razer.com/razer-invitational/sea. The preliminaries for the open tournament will begin on February 14th for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang while the semi-finals and grand finals will be on February 19th. For the PUBG Mobile preliminaries, it will begin on February 21st and the grand finals on February 26th.
