GMA Regional TV, the regional arm of the Philippines' largest broadcast network GMA Network, brought Kapuso viewers all over the regions closer to Vice President Sara Duterte’s inauguration last June 19, 2022 via “Ang Inagurasyon: GMA Regional TV Special Coverage” which aired on all GMA Regional TV channels and via GMA Network live from San Pedro Square in Davao City. The special coverage was anchored by no less than GMA Regional TV’s roster of award-winning news anchors representing Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao comprising of CJ Torida from GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan (Luzon), Cecille Quibod-Castro from GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak (Visayas), and Sarah Hilomen-Velasco from GMA Regional TV One Mindanao (Mindanao) with GMA Regional TV One Mindanao news correspondents Jandi Esteban, Rgil Relator, and Cyril Chaves, and news producer Kentvan Abrigana reporting on ground.
“As part of GMA Regional TV’s thrust to deliver local news that matters, we are proud to bring to our Kapuso viewers nationwide the special coverage of the inauguration of incoming Vice President Sara Duterte. Working together with GMA News and Public Affairs, we deployed our GMA Regional TV news teams to Davao so that we can give the public front-row seats to this historical event,” said GMA Regional TV and Synergy First Vice President and Head Oliver Victor Amoroso, who personally attended the inauguration. Gracing the event as well were GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon and President and Programming Consultant to the Chairman of GMA Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes. With local news hubs strategically located all over the Philippines, GMA RTV aired the special coverage in North Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, Bicol Region, Central and Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Southern Mindanao, South Central Mindanao, and Western Mindanao.
“Ang Inagurasyon: GMA Regional TV Special Coverage” was also made available online via live streaming on various GMA Regional TV and GMA News and Public Affairs online platforms. The live stream began at 2:30 pm and featured the Inaugural Mass at 3:00 pm. The coverage was broadcast as well on GMA Network via GMA News’ “Ang Inagurasyon” hosted by GMA News anchor Pia Arcangel starting at 3:30 pm. Afterwards, Arcangel was joined by Ivan Mayrina for 24 Oras Weekend to deliver more news about the inauguration.
