ABS-CBN’s Star Pop music label has partnered with Singapore-based creative production house AOR Global in advocating for mental health through an extended play (EP) titled “My Safe Place” which features Filipino and Singaporean artists and is set to be released on October 7, 2022. The cross-cultural collaboration was made possible by Filipino talents Trisha Denise and LU.ME and Singapore-based acts KIRI, kotoji, and Marian Carmel — who all share the belief that music plays a significant role in the space of mental wellbeing.
Overall project manager Anjila Lim, also known as artist kotoji, shared her hopes for the EP which presents a story of acknowledgment, acceptance, belief, and hope. She said, “We want to create a movement where people embrace music as a means to find comfort and to help themselves in times of difficulty and need — to create a safe place.” Part of the digital revenue streams from "My Safe Place" will go to beneficiaries Samaritans of Singapore, Shan You, and Bantay Bata 163. The EP is co-produced by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo and Star Pop label head Rox Santos.
Meanwhile, the artists of the project will perform an acoustic performance of the title track “My Safe Place” for the government-organized event “Let’s Talk About Mental Wellness” at Singapore's own Cairnhill Community Centre on October 8, 2022. In partnership with Singapore Street Festival, a “My Safe Place” concert will also be held on October 12, 2022 at the Esplanade Recital Studio in Singapore. The charity event aims to celebrate the release of the EP with live performances from all the artists involved and serve as a fundraiser for Singapore Street Festival’s upcoming mental health projects. Tickets for the concert, priced at 40 SGD each, are now available via sistic.com.sg.

The newest teen barkada that will capture the hearts of today’s youth is here as Anthony Jennings, Daniela Stranner, Kaori Oinuma, JC Alcantara, Vivoree Esclito, CJ Salonga, and Zach CastaƱeda explore love, friendship, and aspirations in iWantTFC’s newest original series “Tara, G!” Get to know Team WISE or “Walang Iwanan Sa Ere”, a group of hopeful teenagers whose ultimate dream is to bring back the pride and glory of the simple town of La Guerta by cultivating coffee which they export and market as beans and coffee wine.
Meet Rocky (Anthony), the charming and ever-reliable leader of the pack; Legs (Kaori), the smart and caring darling; Dan (JC), a handsome smooth talker who has feelings for Legs; Jengjeng (Vivoree), a sweet and ‘kikay’ girl with big dreams; Will (Zach), the funny, go-to-guy and protective brother of Smith (CJ), who is the genius one in the barkada. As they navigate their way to adulthood, Team WISE will encounter challenges along the way including the arrival of Cars (Daniela), a beautiful yet narcissistic rich girl. Cars will bring chaos to La Guerta when she gets drunk and accidentally breaks shelves of coffee wine bottles that Team WISE worked so hard on. The solid friendship of Team WISE will also be put to the test when romantic feelings get in the way of their relationship. Aside from Dan’s jealousy over Rocky and Legs’ closeness, it appears that Rocky will also start to fall for Cars.
When problems seem to be adding up, the adults of La Guerta see this as an opportunity to convince Team WISE that their hometown is not a place for their dreams and that they just have to learn how to settle for less or move to a bigger and better town. Despite the struggles and conflict, Team WISE is out to prove everyone wrong as they band together and fight to achieve their dreams. Will Team WISE learn how to get along with Cars? Will their friendship remain intact as they try to bring back the glory of La Guerta?
“Tara, G!” is directed by Direk Cathy Camarillo and it will stream on the iWantTFC app (iOs and Android) and website (iwanttfc.com) beginning on October 7. The series is also available for premium subscribers outside of the Philippines. Viewers can also find out how Team WISE started in the wattpad prequel, “Summer Camp", which was written by Tina Lata.

Leading the pack for HBO in the recently concluded 74th Annual Primetime Emmy® Awards is its comedy-drama anthology series "The White Lotus", taking home 10 distinctions including the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series award. Starring Murray Bartlett, Jennifer Coolidge, Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario, Jake Lacy, and Steve Zahn, the series features various not-so-perfect experiences of guests and employees of an exclusive Hawaiian resort, the White Lotus.

Created by Jesse Armstrong, who also took home the Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, "Succession" brings viewers the gut-wrenching drama surrounding the entertainment conglomerate WayStar RoyCo and its dysfunctional dynasty — with the children of business mogul Logan Roy (Cox) fighting for the rule of their family's media empire.
