ABS-CBN, the Philippines’ leading content provider, is bringing three of its popular drama series to Malaysia on the free TV channel TVS 122, namely “Marry Me, Marry You,” “Halik" and “On the Wings of Love", all subtitled in Bahasa Malaysia. These shows, all subtitled in Bahasa Malaysia, will be the first Filipino programs to air on Malaysia’s free-to-air TV channel TVS 122 operated by Sarawak Media Group, Malaysia’s first state-owned TV station.
Now airing on TVS 122 is ABS-CBN’s drama romantic-comedy series “Marry Me, Marry You,” which first premiered locally in 2021 featuring the pairing of Paulo Avelino and Janine Gutierrez in her very first Kapamilya project. The story follows engaged lovers Camille (Janine) and Andrei (Paulo) who struggle to find the perfect balance between their blossoming relationship with their families’ clashing personalities as they make their way to matrimony. Meanwhile, soon to premiere is the 2018 drama-affair show “Halik” top-billed by Sam Milby, Yen Santos, Yam Concepcion, and Asia’s Prince of Dramas Jericho Rosales who also starred in ABS-CBN’s hit series that aired internationally including the original version of “Pangako Sa ‘Yo", "Dahil May Isang Ikaw", "Bridges of Love” and “The Legal Wife" plus in the 2014 Malaysian series “Kusinera Cinta.” It features the story of two couples whose lives are intertwined in a complicated series of affairs tainted by lust, temptation, betrayal, and revenge. Another series that will air soon on TVS 122 is its award-winning romantic-comedy series “On the Wings of Love” starring the iconic love team of James Reid and Nadine Lustre. The show follows the lives of Clark (James), a simple boy living the American life, and Leah (Nadine), a girl with an ambitious American dream, and how they find love in each other’s company after their forced marriage to let her legally stay in the United States.
Apart from these recent feats in syndicating its beloved shows to its Malaysian neighbors, ABS-CBN continues making waves in global content distribution by bringing world-class Filipino content of all genres to foreign audiences in over 50 territories worldwide — selling over 50,000 hours of content with stories that appeal and relate to various cultures. Other ABS-CBN programs that have aired in different parts of the world recently include “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano", “Sandugo", “Bagong Umaga" and “La Vida Lena” in Africa; the 2015 remake of “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” in Latin America; “The Blood Sisters” in France’s overseas territories; and “Huwag Kang Mangamba” in Myanmar. PLDT-Smart Foundation Commits Tech-Enabling Support For Cacao Farmer Cooperatives In Bohol

PLDT Inc. and Smart Communications, Inc.’s (Smart) social action arm PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF) has partnered with Dalareich Polot of Ginto Chocolates to support small-holder cacao farmer cooperatives in Bohol that have been heavily affected by Super Typhoon Odette in 2021. “Through our group’s business approach — Equip, Train, and Connect; we want to understand and help our farmers by introducing technology in aiding farming communities from all over the country. This is important for us because this will be a way to help increase our farmers’ income by looking for crops like cacao which has a very big market. We want to help make the Philippines internationally known for being a good source of cacao,” said PLDT-Smart Foundation President Esther Santos.
The monetary donation from the foundation would enable a sustainable approach to cacao rehabilitation and production by incorporating advanced farming technology and a series of hands-on workshops. The farmers will undergo upskilling on cacao rejuvenation, integrated pest and disease management, and cacao harvesting as well as on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and values formation. They will also be provided with the necessary tools and initial financial capital which would prepare them for the program. New technologies will also be interwoven to help the cooperatives build their cacao inventory, monitoring, and traceability systems. “We are eternally grateful and humbled because you have recognized our efforts to improve the livelihood of our farmers. Our main goal is to rehabilitate the 'old' cacaos situated in everyone’s household backyards. The support of PSF for this program will help open up more opportunities for us here,” said Liboron Organic Farmers and Cacao Growers Association President Cecilia de Leon.
Huawei Technologies Co. has also signified its support through the donation of tablets to participating cooperatives that will further assist them in the program. Driven by the PLDT group’s value of malasakit, PSF’s efforts are aligned with the entire group’s commitment to helping the Philippines attain the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG), particularly UNSDG 1 which stands for no poverty and UNSDG 8 which stands for decent work and economic growth.
