Globe Telecom, the leader in Mobile, welcomes the release of the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of Republic Act No. 11934 (RA 11934), also known as the SIM Registration Act Of 2022, for standard enforcement of the law. The IRR, crafted by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) in consultation with the telco industry, has also gone through public hearing. It is expected to lay down the SIM registration procedure and guidelines that all public telecommunications entities (PTEs) must follow in creating their respective registration platforms. The IRR is expected to take effect on December 27, 2022.
In compliance with the law, Globe will launch its online SIM registration platform and start selling new SIMs in deactivated mode. All new SIMs must be registered immediately to enjoy Globe services while existing SIMs should be registered within 180 days or six months from the effectivity of the law. There are an estimated 87.9 million SIM users under the Globe network. “Globe is proud to be part of the technical working group that crafted the IRR which we hope will pave the way for an orderly and timely SIM registration for all SIM users. We will continue our close collaboration with the government to ensure full implementation of the SIM Registration Act to achieve our shared goal of stopping cybercrime, including SIM-aided fraud,” said Globe Group President and CEO Ernest Cu. “Our goal is to have a SIM registration process that is seamless, secure, inclusive and convenient for our customers,” he added. Cu also mentioned that Globe has existing customers who are currently not using smartphones and may not be digital savvy. Globe shall put in place a special assistance process for these customers so they can go through the registration as well.
The passage of the SIM Registration Act is a significant step forward in fighting fraudsters who have been taking advantage of SIM use anonymity in their illicit activities. This measure complements Globe’s long-standing fraud protection efforts including investments in filtering systems, proactive blocking of scam and spam SMS, and data sharing partnerships with banks and other financial institutions. Globe will release more information about its SIM registration platform and procedure on its official channels in the next coming days.

Aside from its branches located in cities, municipalities, and far-flung areas of the country, the Philippine Postal Corporation (Post Office) recently opened an outlet in SM Makati in order to expand its accessibility by bringing the Post Office closer to the public. Makati City Mayor Abigail Binay, Postmaster General Norman Fulgencio, SM Mart. Inc. Senior Assistant Vice President Dennis Albano, and other SM and government officials led the opening and blessing of SM Makati’s newly renovated Servicio.
“I would like to thank SM, one of the largest and most extensive over-the-counter one-stop shops for government services in the country, for giving us the opportunity to bring Post Office services closer to the public”, Postmaster General Norman Fulgencio said. He added, “I believe the Post Office can do so much in bringing daily convenience in the lives of the Filipinos by means of this partnership with SM Supermalls on government-private sector collaboration”.
“The Post Office today is way faster, more reliable, convenient, and innovative than it ever was in decades. In an effort to digitize and modernize the services of the Philippine Post Office, we launched early this year a new range of innovations to improve the operations and delivery of the country’s postal system," he said. Fulgencio added, “Shoppers will be able to conveniently and quickly mail letters and express packages, buy stamps and other philatelic products, apply for Postal ID, and send electronic Postal Money Orders, postal cards, and so much more."

G22 Takes Over With Release Of Mutya Ng Pilipinas Theme Song "Takin' Over"

After a string of successful performances (such as the 2022 POPSTIVAL K-Pop Meets P-Pop concert, the 27th Asian Television Awards, and the ENHYPEN Fan Meet in Manila just to name a few) and the release of the fearless track “Defy”, P-Pop’s Newest Caliber G22 is back with another certified banger, the theme song of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2022 – “Takin’ Over”. “Takin’ Over” was officially released at midnight on December 7, 2022. Both the lyric video and audio video were also released at the same time on G22's official YouTube channel.
The theme song was made for the 52nd edition of the prestigious Mutya ng Pilipinas national beauty pageant and G22 was aptly given the task of bringing the empowering song to life, a task that the group accomplished with much gratitude and flying colors. The audience of the coronation night (held on December 4, 2022 at the FilOil EcoOil Center in San Juan City, Metro Manila) was given a special treat as they got to witness the girls perform the song in public for the very first time.
