2023 marks Gary Valenciano’s 40th anniversary in showbiz and he’s set to celebrate this milestone with a bang! The OPM icon has kicked off the festivities on ASAP Natin ‘To last April 16, 2023. The long-running noontime variety show put together a 30-minute musical extravaganza just for him — a fitting tribute to a man who spent half of his career as one of the show’s mainstays. Gary has performed special renditions of his best-loved recordings on the ASAP stage with his peers and many of the up-and-coming young artists he has mentored over the years including Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Jona Viray, Jed Madela, Jason Dy, Darren Espanto, BGYO, BINI and many more.
Also present to celebrate Valenciano's milestone were his son Gab, who joined him in a dance number, and his wife Angeli Pangilinan who shared a heartfelt message for her husband. “I just want to thank everybody for such a beautiful tribute. Truly God deserves all the glory and I thank you Gary for allowing yourself to be a vessel of his goodness, his righteousness, his faithfulness, his love and hope and his healing. This is my living miracle,” she said. Following the show's special tribute, Valenciano looked visibly moved by all the good words his colleagues said about him. He also took the opportunity to thank everyone who continues to trust and believe in him as an artist. 2023 also marks the inspirational icon’s 20th year with ABS-CBN with not just his renewal as a Kapamilya but also yet another milestone, the recording of KAPALARAN, the theme song of the number one teleserye on television and online today FPJ’s Batang Quiapo starring Coco Martin.
However, the tribute is just the beginning of what Mr. Pure Energy has in store for his fans. He’s pulling out all the stops to make his 40th year in showbiz one to remember. First, he’s set to release a book chronicling his journey in the entertainment industry. Gary is also working on an inspirational album that promises to lift listeners’ spirits when they need it most. He also has amazing duet collaborations with Gloc-9, Keiko, Julie Ann San Jose, Lea Salonga, and RJ de la Fuente to name a few. But music isn’t all Gary has up his sleeve. He’ll also appear at at an event for the Department of Tourism (DOT) in Burbank, California, USA on April 22nd. Gary continues his mental health “Face 2 Face” campus visits of over 50 schools where he connects with the youth and inspires them to pursue their dreams. What’s more, for those who want to get up close and personal with him, his team at Manila Genesis is organizing a Fans’ Day in the second quarter of this year as well as a provincial tour. Moreover, Gary will hit the concert stage abroad once more in September and October taking him to cities across Canada and the US. He’s also set to cap his 40th year in showbiz with the Pure Energy concert in 2024.
