KaladKaren, or Jervi Li in real life, is now a Star Magic artist as she officially signed with the talent management arm of ABS-CBN, the Philippines' premiere media and entertainment company and leading content provider, on June 26, 2023. “Ang Star Magic kasi has produced the A-listers of the industry since time immemorial. Parang lahat ng sikat at pinag-uusapan, napaka-talented na tao, nangggaling sa Star Magic. It’s such an honor and privilege for me to be a part of this family," Jervi said during her contract signing. She also shared that she will be part of an upcoming series, a reality show, and a movie as a Star Magic artist.
Meanwhile, Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi praised Jervi’s character during the contract signing. “Alam mo naman, Jervi, you embody the attributes of what a Star Magic artist is. You stand for excellence, you’re very talented, you stand for other people. Sabi mo nga kanina, gusto mo may silbi ‘yung pagiging artista mo. This is not only to glorify yourself, but really to inspire other people. We’d like to thank you for honoring us with your presence in Star Magic,” Direk Lauren told Jervi. KaladKaren rose to fame for her impersonation of “TV Patrol” and ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC)'s “Headstart” anchor Karen Davila. But now, she is slowly making a name for herself as an actor after she was named the first transwoman to become a winner at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
“I don’t want to be boxed as your impersonator only – of course I’m very grateful sa’yo na ako ang impersonator mo – but I would like people to know that I can do more than that. I want people to realize that I can do something else,” Jervi said in an interview with Karen Davila on ANC’s “Headstart". Currently, Jervi is part of iWantTFC’s “Drag You & Me” and the upcoming ABS-CBN and Prime Video series “Fit Check: Confessions Of An Ukay Queen". Aside from her win as Best Supporting Actress at the MMFF this year, Jervi is also the first transwoman news anchor in the country as the entertainment and information presenter of TV5's flagship primetime news program "Frontline Pilipinas".
