The much-awaited annual Acer Day celebration has returned with a superior, more exciting lineup of activities. True to its theme of #AceYourWorld, Acer Philippines announces that Sandara Park, also known by her stage name Dara, is joining the Acer Day concert as one of its ambassadors. “Dara truly fits the theme of this year’s celebration because she is an ace who has conquered stages worldwide with her talent and charm. The youth look up to her because she has achieved her dreams despite whatever challenges came her way,” said Acer Philippines General Manager Sue Ong-Lim. Dara studied in the Philippines and rose to fame here via a reality show search. She moved to her homeland Korea and joined the group 2NE1, one of the bestselling groups of its time until its disbandment in 2016.
Dara continued to be active as a performer and variety show host. She is revered and admired as Korea’s favorite noona because of her beauty and amiable personality. Despite her fame, Dara has never forgotten the Philippines. She continues to visit the country and maintains her friendship with people who were part of her life here. Dara is affectionately referred to as the “Pambansang Krungkrung ng Pilipinas". Dara’s solo mini album “Sandara Park”, released on July 12, 2023 under Abyss Company, has five songs including the title track “Festival".

ABS-CBN Is Media Company Of The Year For The Sixth Year In A Row At LPU Batangas' Golden Laurel Awards 2023

ABS-CBN, the premiere media and entertainment company in the Philippines and the country’s leading content provider, bagged a total of eleven awards, including Media Company of the Year for the sixth year in a row, at the Golden Laurel: The Batangas Province Media Awards 2023 held at the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Batangas on June 20, 2023. Award-winning host and actress Charo Santos-Concio was given the prestigious Sotero H. Laurel Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to the Philippine entertainment industry while “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” the Philippines' longest and most celebrated drama anthology program, was presented with the Meritissimus Award for Drama Anthology.
“It has been an honor and privilege for me to serve the Filipino audience since my early days as actress in 'Itim', as the host of the longest running drama anthology 'MMK', as president and CEO of ABS-CBN, and now as Tindeng in 'Batang Quiapo' on weeknights. Your loving support has been a source of strength and motivation for me to keep doing what I have been doing throughout the years,” Charo shared. ABS-CBN’s noontime program “It’s Showtime” was recognized as the Best Variety Show while advocacy-driven legal drama anthology “Ipaglaban Mo!” bagged the Best Documentary Show award. Other winners include Joshua Garcia (Best Drama Actor), Esnyr Ranollo (Most Outstanding Content Creator), and Princess Kathryn “Kulot” Caponpon (Breakthrough Batangueño Social Media Child Personality).
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN News’ flagship program “TV Patrol” won the Best News Program award while its anchor Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo took home the Female News Anchor of the Year award. Dilaw, Sandwich, Oh! Flamingo, SOS To Headline The Rest Is Noise PH's 8th Anniversary Concert

The Rest Is Noise PH, a music curator and events production outfit based in Manila, will be celebrating its 8th anniversary with a show that highlights the rich and diverse backgrounds, cultures, and styles of music artists from the Philippines. The event serves as the bi-monthly production’s 37th edition and will take place on August 12, 2023 at the Balcony Music House in Makati City. Headlining the lineup are some of the most notable Filipino acts from the past to the present including Baguio’s very own Dilaw who will be performing for the very first time on the TRIN stage and alt-rock icon Sandwich who just recently released their anthemic new single “Nyare” over the summer.
Indie favorites SOS and Oh, Flamingo! will mark their return as part of the TRIN roster along with Davao-based hip-hop crew PLAYERTWO and neo-R&B boyband KINDRED. Disney+ Wins Best Drama Series For "Big Bet" At Korea's Blue Dragon Series Awards

On a night that celebrated the best Korean content in the streaming world, Disney+ won four awards at the annual Blue Dragon Series Awards (BSA) held on July 19, 2023 including the coveted Best Drama Series for its Korean tentpole series Big Bet. In its second year, BSA is the first-ever industry award in Korea that recognizes the best stories and talent across various streaming services. Big Bet, a crime action series with a strong fan base over two seasons starring the legendary actor Choi Minsik, won Best Drama Series and Best Supporting Male Actor (Lee Donghwi). In its premiere week, the second season replaced the first season as the most watched locally produced original series on Disney+ in Korea.
Shin Yeeun won Best Female Newcomer for her role in Revenge of Others, a thriller series where she plays a student that transfers to her brother’s school to uncover the truth of his mysterious death. Lee Kwangsoo won the Popular Actor award for his role in the hilarious K-variety show The Zone: Survival Mission. “We are thrilled that our Korean originals including Big Bet, Revenge Of Others, and The Zone: Survival Mission have been well recognized by the industry, and would like to congratulate the talent, storytellers, and creative teams behind these high-quality shows. Lyka Estrella Sings Theme Song Of ABS-CBN And TV5 Series "Nag-Aapoy Na Damdamin"

Two months after being hailed as “Tawag ng Tanghalan” season 6 grand champion, Lyka Estrella debuts with “Hawak Mo", the official theme song of the afternoon drama series “Nag-Aapoy Na Damdamin". “Malaking break ito sa akin. I’m expecting na hindi ganito yung first project ko pero ito yung binigay ni Lord sa akin and I’m so blessed and grateful,” said Lyka. She also considers “Hawak Mo” as the best song describing her challenging but rewarding journey. “Storyline po ito ng buhay ko,” said Lyka in her Kapamilya Chat interview.
The new Kapamilya artist first performed the emotional ballad live during the media launch of ABS-CBN Entertainment and TV5’s collaboration “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso and “Nag-Aapoy Na Damdamin” last July 13. She recently joined the stars of the two series and performed “Hawak Mo” live at the Sublian Festival Kapamilya Karavan 2023 held last July 23, 2023 at SM City Batangas. “Hawak Mo” was composed and produced by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo, arranged by Tommy Katigbak, and released on all digital music streaming platforms worldwide under Star Music.
Centered on lies, power, and revenge, “Nag-Aapoy Na Damdamin” stars JC de Vera, Ria Atayde, Tony Labrusca, and Jane Oineza. Joining the powerhouse cast are Maila Gumila, Joko Diaz, Kim Rodriguez, Aya Fernandez, and Carla Martinez.
