This July 29, TV5 premieres its new romance drama anthology to be hosted by the Philippines’ Concert Queen, Ms. Pops Fernandez, featuring tales of love and loss as presented by some of this generation’s most promising artists. Titled “For the Love,” the new weekly series gives life to relatable stories and heartwarming moments while taking viewers down memory lane with classic and modern hits from the home of OPM songs, Viva Records.
“For the Love” presents 13 episodes directed by some of the industry’s up and coming directors including JP Laxamana, Rod Marmol, Joel Ferrer, and Dustin Celestino. Each episode stars a different love team and some of today’s rising artists – Heaven Peralejo and Marco Gallo, Krissha Viaje and Wilbert Ross, Bea Binene and Gab Lagman, to name a few. Aside from being the show’s host and story narrator, Pops Fernandez will also be serenading viewers with the featured OPM love song per episode, invoking deeper emotions with her enchanting singing voice and talent that earned her the distinction of being the Philippines’ Concert Queen.

Viewers anywhere in the world will now have easier access to popular iWantTFC original series as these become available for free on iWantTFC’s YouTube channel. Relive the magical moments and all the feels by tuning in to “iWantTFC Originals Playback” on YouTube where there will be a live premiere of a featured iWantTFC original series every Thursday at 6:00 pm PHT/HKT/SGT. All episodes will also be available on-demand after they are livestreamed.
Kicking off "iWantTFC Originals Playback" is the romantic-comedy series “Bola Bola" starring Francine Diaz with KD Estrada, Ashton Salvador, and Akira Morishita. The story revolves around an overweight high school student named Thea (Francine), and how three charming boys attempt to win her heart. Another binge-worthy series to premiere on July 27 is iWantTFC’s first-ever light original musical drama “Lyric and Beat". Andrea Brillantes, Seth Fedelin, Kyle Echarri, Darren Espanto, and AC Bonifacio lead the young cast who show-off their singing and dancing skills in jaw-dropping performances.
In the succeeding months, more iWantTFC original titles will fill viewers’ nights with lots of love, horror, and thrilling adventures. PLDT, Smart, Office Of Civil Defense CALABARZON Kicked Off National Disaster Resilience Month With "Run For Resilience"

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) joined hands with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) CALABARZON and the Sta. Rosa City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) for “Run for Resilience", the kick-off activity for this year's National Disaster Resilience Month. With the theme "BIDAng Pilipino: Building a Stronger Filipino Well-being towards Disaster Resilience", this year’s month-long celebration underscores the importance of overall health and well-being and how it can directly impact the readiness and resilience of Filipinos especially during disasters.
"This year’s observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month focuses on taking care of our people as our valued asset in building disaster-resilient communities. We acknowledge that our people are our treasure in this endeavor. The main objective of this activity is to raise awareness on the importance of disaster risk reduction and management and disaster resilience in CALABARZON,” said OCD CALABARZON Chief of Capacity Building and Training Section Tadeo Sagritalo. “PLDT and Smart fully support initiatives that promote the readiness, good health, and well-being of Filipinos. We are committed to the government’s advocacy for a disaster-resilient Philippines and will take this goal even further in the best way we can,” said PLDT and Smart First Vice President and Group Corporate Communications Head Cathy Yang.
As part of the Group’s support for this initiative, PLDT and Smart provided Smart Pocket WiFi units to the first five finishers of the race. A SIM registration booth was also set up in the venue to assist customers in registering their SIMs before the July 25, 2023 deadline. Among the government institutions that participated in the fun run were the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Department of Health (DOH), Philippine National Police (PNP), National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Department of Science and Technology (DOST). Through this participation, PLDT and Smart reaffirm their commitment to support OCD, local DRRMCs, and all other government agencies in achieving a healthier and more resilient Philippines for every Filipino, leaving no one behind. This also contributes towards achieving the United Nations (UN) Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) #3 Good Health and Well-being, and #11 Sustainable Cities and Communities.

ABS-CBN Foundation Continues To Aid Evacuees In Albay Amid Mayon Activity

Amid the continuous activity of the Mayon Volcano, ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc., with the assistance of Sun Life Philippines Foundation, continues to extend a helping hand to thousands of evacuees who are still seeking shelter in different evacuation sites in Albay by giving them relief packs and hot meals. More than 6,100 individuals who are unable to consume full meals due to lack of ingredients and equipment were served with freshly cooked food via the Sagip Kapamilya Mobile Kitchen.
Over 1,800 families were also given relief packs consisting of rice, canned goods, toiletries, and cleaning materials. “Delikado talaga yan. Ang Bulkang Mayon hindi natin alam. Ang sisihan laging nasa huli,” said Aldrin Luna, who left his home and livelihood due to the eruption, in a TV Patrol report. He also thanked ABS-CBN Foundation for the help they have given. “Maraming salamat sa tulong niyo. Salamat sa pagpunta dito sa barangay namin at sana marami pang mapuntahan niyo na nag-evacuate din na mga baryo,” he added.
