In celebration of National Breastfeeding Month this August, SM Cares continues to promote breastfeeding awareness by mounting the “Free To Feed: Championing Safe Spaces For Breastfeeding At SM” photo contest and exhibit. The Free to Feed photo contest is open to all photo enthusiasts. Interested participants are invited to submit original photos featuring breastfeeding mothers in any area within any part of the SM mall such as the food court, car park, tenant areas, and more, but most especially the designated breastfeeding station, until August 21, 2023. Winning entries will be announced on August 28 at SM City North EDSA and will be awarded as much as Php30,000 in prizes. Participants may send their entries online at bit.ly/FreeToFeedAtSM.
A photo exhibit roadshow and forum will be held throughout August to serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting mothers in their breastfeeding journey. Visitors can view the Free to Feed exhibit during the following schedules at these participating SM malls:
• August 10-20, 2023 — SM City Davao
• August 15-21, 2023 — SM City Pampanga
• August 16-20, 2023 — SM City Dasmariñas
• August 19-24, 2023 — SM City Iloilo
• August 28-September 2, 2023 — SM City North EDSA.
As the World Health Organization (WHO) focuses on promoting breastfeeding in the workplace, SM Supermalls provides accessible and safe spaces for nursing mothers through 80 breastfeeding stations available for customers and employees across SM malls nationwide. “We came up with this photo competition and exhibit because we believe in the importance of advocating breastfeeding awareness among Filipinos and encouraging safe and welcoming spaces for mothers. SM malls are a prime example of such a place where mothers are free to breastfeed anywhere, while also having breastfeeding stations that are fully equipped with anything moms might need to nourish their babies,” said SM Cares Committee on Women and Breastfeeding Mothers Program Director Atty. TGR PH GT Cup 2023 Concludes Local Rounds, Top Sporting Class Qualifiers Head To Nationals

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has completed the local rounds of the 2023 season of its TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Gran Turismo Cup (TGR GT Cup) with the broadcast of the third and final local round last August 4, 2023. The successful qualifiers for the National Finals will then face each other in a live e-racing battle to happen at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on August 24, 2023 during the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) Festival..E-racers who participated in the third and final round got behind the wheel of the virtual Toyota GR010 Hybrid on the Nürburgring GP track which proved to be a challenging car for e-racers with its powerful four-wheel-drive racing hybrid powertrain. Meanwhile, the Nürburgring GP offered broadcast viewers stunning views of the real-life track in Germany through the crisp visuals of the Gran Turismo 7 game.
David Enzo Ison once again conquered the Junior Class, coming out on top for the third round in a row. Russo Gabriel Formoso and Satoshi Jacobo Taguchi Paredes followed behind in second and third place, respectively. In the Promotional Class, Stanley Theodore Golez emerged as champion with Jan Rene Cortez Aldiosa in second and Benedict Salido in third. Russel Reyes defended his first-place finish in the Sporting Class with Jether Lugo Miole coming in second and Matthew Spencer Ang in third. With the culmination of the local rounds, the Top 8 Sporting Class e-racers who will be competing at the National Finals was determined. Based on overall points from the three local rounds, the players who will be racing for a chance to represent the Philippines at the Asia Regional are Russel Reyes, Jether Miole, Matthew Ang, Mark Elman, Luis Moreno, Topher Tejada, Estefano Rivera, and Bob Villangca.
The winners of the National Finals will represent the Philippines in the Asia Regional happening in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. E-motorsports fans can cheer for their favorite e-racers live at the National Finals at the Quirino Grandstand. Aside from witnessing the exciting sim racing battle, they can also watch drifting and gymkhana exhibitions by international and local pro drivers and experience exhilarating entertainment from guest bands.

The AMAESports 2023 National Playoffs, which turned virtual achievements into actual victories last Saturday, served as a magnificent example of the transforming potential of eSports. From the event’s magnificent debut through the thrilling national finals on July 22, 2023, it was a vivacious display of senior high and college students’ eSports prowess.
The crowning champions, NOVA CHRONO from AMA East Rizal and PHS BAI NA BAI representing AMA Pampanga, emerged victorious in the current and upcoming students categories respectively, demonstrating not just their gaming prowess, but also embodying the core values of teamwork, and strategic thinking, and resilience. The competition was more than just a contest for gaming supremacy. It provided students with numerous advantages, ranging from skill development and companionship to a healthy competitive environment. More importantly, it provided a pathway for students to investigate prospective job possibilities in the developing eSports business. The event underlined the importance of incorporating eSports into the school system, paving the way for new opportunities in the STEM sectors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

PLDT, Smart, TikTok PH Join 6th Bicol Agri Summit, Fast-Track Digital Upskilling Among Local Farmers And MSMEs

PLDT and Smart, together with TikTok Philippines, backed the 6th Bicol Agri Summit which gathered Micro-, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) based in Camarines Sur and neighboring provinces. “We believe that technology can be a powerful tool for economic growth, and we look forward to continuing our meaningful and impactful work with TikTok Shop to help MSMEs nationwide reach a wider audience and boost their sales,” said PLDT and Smart Assistant Vice President and Stakeholder Management Head Stephanie Orlino.
Highlighting the vital role of technology in empowering Filipino MSMEs, the PLDT Group showcased its ‘eBiznovation’ initiative, a digital upskilling-to-e-commerce program that aims to provide local entrepreneurs including those in the agricultural and fishery sector with the right digital tools to help them grow their businesses online. PLDT and Smart also promoted the homegrown ‘Buy Local Bazaar’ program which educates local MSMEs to boost their income and increase their market reach by putting them on e-commerce platforms such as TikTok Shop. “I would like to learn online selling and have access to an e-commerce platform so we can sell our products better. I am glad that PLDT and Smart are offering this program, and I look forward to learning more,” said Maria Paloma, a vegetable farmer and President of the Planza High-Value Crops Planters Association of San Fernando, Camarines Sur.
The three-day 6th Bicol Agri Summit was organized by the Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (CSCCI) with PLDT Enterprise as one of its major sponsors. The event, also supported by the Department of Agriculture and the local government of Camarines Sur, featured live technical discussions from various agricultural stakeholders and trade exhibits featuring local products. “Accessing online tools has been challenging for our farmers. We want to address this through this summit and assist our local agricultural and fishery sectors keep up with technology,” said CSCCI President Ramon Dy.
