Since its inception in 2016, BRAVE Combat Federation has played an integral role in empowering French mixed martial artists despite the lack of recognition the sport received in the European nation. For the last seven years, BRAVE CF has taken the French to the world as the promotion endeavored to change lives and impact nations through the power of mixed martial arts and sports in every corner of the globe. The organization - home to nearly 800 fighters from 83 nations - will bring the world to France for the first time when an international fight card of the highest caliber takes place in Nantes' historic H Arena on September 7, 2023 in partnership with French MMA organization Hexagone MMA.
The BRAVE CF 74 card will see some of France's top athletes take on the world when the show rolls out in a historic night of action. BRAVE CF 74 will be a celebratory occasion for so many reasons. Not only will it see France become the 29th nation to host BRAVE Combat Federation and confirm the brand as the most-global promotion, but there is more to it, it will also be a milestone mark for both promotion and country. It's been just over three years since the French government legalized mixed martial arts in January 2020 after many years of lobbying by stakeholders and detailed government consultation. Even before the legalization of MMA in France, BRAVE CF has incentivized the sport for many professional French-based athletes. In total, 21 French athletes have fought under the BRAVE CF banner and have often been given the best spots on the cards with ten events headlined by a Frenchman thus far. BRAVE CF has also been home to three France-based champions including former Lightweight champion Amin Ayoub, former Welterweight champion Abdoul Abdouraguimov and former Featherweight king Elias Boudegzdamem who also represents Algeria. BRAVE CF 74 will be another opportunity to shine a spotlight on the Republic’s deep pool of talent, only this time it will be done in France’s backyard as the event brings the eyes of the world to the development of mixed martial arts in France.
The main event of the night will see former BRAVE CF Lightweight champion and Brazil’s Lucas Martins chase his dream of reclaiming the 155-pound title when he meets hometown hero and submission specialist Ylies Djiroun who aims to shake up the division and stamp down his authority as the future of BRAVE CF and the new contender for Abdisalam Kubanychbek’s undisputed title. In the co-main event, it will be a matter of “someone’s 0 has got to go” when France’s fast-rising star and former pound-for-pound number on amateur champion Axel Sola meets Ukraine’s four-time Combat Sambo World Champion Vladyslav Rudniev in another intriguing Lightweight fight that could help shape the glamorous division. In the third and final Heavyweight bout of the night, France’s Salim El Oussaidi will put his six-fight unbeaten streak on the line in his BRAVE CF debut when he competes against the Lithuanian wrecking ball and knockout artist Pavel “The Experiment” Dailidko for honors in the “Big Boy” division.
Opening up the main card will be an explosive Super Welterweight match-up as DRC’s viral star Eliezer ‘’King Kong’’ Kubanza steps into the BRAVE CF cage for the second time to fight France’s Levy Carriel. On the Hexagone MMA 11 preliminary card, fans can look forward to six mouth-watering bouts including a Middleweight Championship fight as France’s Laid Zerhouni faces Brazil’s Alessandro Macedo for the Hexagone MMA 185-pound belt. BRAVE Combat Federation prides itself on producing the world’s best fighters but the brand also aims to unearth future talent. With that said, the BRAVE CF 74 fight card will also host three AEF Championship amateur fights. BRAVE CF 74 will be aired live worldwide on BRAVECFTV.COM and BRAVE Combat Federation's international broadcast and digital partners.
