The People’s Television Network (PTV) has recently launched a new lineup of programs as part of its major programming makeover to produce more timely and relevant content while expanding its reach. During a press conference for the network’s new programs held last September 8, 2023, PTV General Manager Analisa Puod said the network has a blueprint of “Rebranding, Revenue, and Reorganization” to become the second leading broadcast network in the Philippines. “Aggressive ang PTV right now, so that’s our direction. More than a government station, I see PTV as a commercial station,” she said. “It has to have the balance ng news, culture, education, sports, and mga inspirational and uplifting entertainment content,” she added.

Among the new shows is “Punto Asintado Reload” every 10:00 am from Mondays to Fridays by hard-hitting veteran broadcaster Erwin Tulfo and fellow veteran broadcaster Aljo Bendijo, followed by a multi-agency public forum “Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon” hosted by Niña Corpuz that tackles issues and addresses questions on frontline services from the public and the media. PTV also airs a half-hour program block on President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on weekdays at 5:30 am that features “On the Ground” or a series of short documentaries by Presidential Adviser on Creative Communications Paul Soriano. It also includes “BBM Vlogs” which provides a look at the day-to-day activities of the chief executive. Investigative stories will be shown through “On Assignment” hosted by Maan Macapagal and PTV correspondents. A rebroadcast of the Voice of America’s groundbreaking programs through “Stories From The Grid” with Charms Espina is also among the network’s new programs, along with a comprehensive summary of international headlines in “Global Roundup” with Monique Tuzon.

PTV also continues to deliver hourly multilingual newsbreaks in English, Filipino, and other major local languages in “PTV News Now”, “PTV Balita Ngayon”, and “PTV Balita Ngayon sa Probinsya”. The network's weekend programming will also lean heavily on news as it continues to deliver updates through “Ulat Bayan Weekend” anchored by broadcaster Dominic Almelor. Morning commentary program “Mike Abe Live” at 9:00 am also joins the new lineup of regular weekday newscasts “Sentro Balita” with Angelique Lazo, Audrey Gorriceta and Naomi Tiburcio at 1:00 pm; “Ulat Bayan” with Aljo Bendijo, Diane Querrer, Maan Macapagal, and Bill Velasco at 6:00 pm.; and “PTV News Tonight” with William Thio, Monique Tuzon, and Charms Espina at 9:30 pm. In the pipeline are “Chatroom” with Malacañang Press Briefer Daphne Oseña-Paez, the emergency response program ‘Code Red” with William Thio, and the travel documentary “Go Beyond Borders”. “These new shows will add to our stable of in-house programs like Ulat Bayan, Sentro Balita, PTV News Tonight, Iskoolmates, and Rise & Shine Pilipinas. We’re excited to create more engaging content in the coming days; more watchable, dynamic programming that’s attuned to the viewing habits of today’s digitally-connected Filipinos,” Puod said. Meanwhile, the reported airing of a Willie Revillame show is also under a tripartite discussion with the Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) and the game show icon.

Currently, PTV has 16 analog transmitting stations and six digital transmitting stations. Puod shared, “Ongoing ngayon ang JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) project…Magtatayo ang PTV ng 60 digital channels nationwide. In terms of hardware, mas marami kaming antenna, transmitter kumpara sa ibang private channels at marami kaming magagaling na empleyado." Meanwhile, the network chief mentioned the reorganization of the network to regularize employees whom she considered as “heart and soul of PTV".
