BLAST And Ubisoft Reveal Rainbow Six eSports Locations For Seasons 2024 And 2025

BLAST and Ubisoft have revealed event locations ahead of the BLAST Rainbow Six eSports upcoming Season 2024 with Canada and the United States joining the United Kingdom in hosting events for the new season. Off the back of a memorable Six Invitational 2024 in Sao Paulo which saw a record number of ticket sales and commercial partnerships for a Rainbow Six eSports event, BLAST and Ubisoft have revealed the pipeline for events ahead of Season 2024 and the location for the Six Invitational 2026.

Season 2024 is set to be an historic one for the Rainbow Six eSports community with the United Kingdom set to host its first Major in May and the United States will host its first Six Invitational in early 2025.

After the revamped format changes made in December 2022, there have been a few minor changes to the BLAST Rainbow Six ecosystem format and qualifying process for the coming season. These changes were announced back in January and include a revamped Six Invitational points system and qualifying process alongside the reintroduction of Last Chance Qualifiers. The updated Six Invitational points system and qualifying process will put more emphasis on teams’ performances in Majors. For Season 2024, the Six Invitational Last Chance Qualifiers makes its return which will see four qualifiers take place in December 2024 and January 2025 during the off-season in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia Pacific. Season 2024 is right around the corner with Stage 1 matches beginning during the week commericing March 11th.

Hosting the Six Invitational in Brazil was very important to us and our fans here, and now we’re looking forward to bringing our next events around the world. We’re in particular excited about hosting the Six Invitational in France, in 2026, the home turf of Ubisoft."

The BLAST R6 Six Invitational 2024 in Sao Paulo, Brazil saw w7M going all the way through two weeks of tough competition and a historic Grand Final to be crowned champions in dramatic fashion to take home the grand cash prize of US$1M and the iconic sledgehammer trophy after overcoming FaZe Clan in the Best-of-Five Grand Final. In front of over more than 9,000 passionate fans and 521,323 viewers online which are both records for Rainbow Six eSports, w7m beat FaZe Clan 3-2 in a blockbuster Grand Final going the full distance to win the prestigious tournament for the first time and assert themselves as the best team in Rainbow Six eSports. Over the past two weeks, 20 teams from nine different regions fought tooth and nail to become world champions with players hailing from 23 different countries across six continents creating a truly global tournament. 

w7m's FelipoX overcame with emotion after becoming a world champion. The SI 2024 victory also meant further history was made with the team becoming the first team to win every arena event in the BLAST Rainbow Six eSports 2023 Season. “It’s been my dream since I started playing Rainbow Six to firstly make an SI Grand Final and to then win the Grand Final and become World Champions. To have the hammer and the title in front of my home crowd and in front of my parents just means to world to me," said FelipoX. This was the first Six Invitational to take place in South America, an ever growing passionate region with a dedicated fanbase. The event saw a sold out crowd with over 9,000 fans attending each day cheering on the best in the scene. Alongside record breaking attendance, SI 2024 also saw a strengthening commercial landscape with seven event partners coming on board for the duration of the event, many of whom activated in-person with fans inside the Ibirapuera.
