The Philippines' largest and leading broadcast media company GMA Network, through its premiere talent management arm Sparkle GMA Artist Center, goes global with its first-ever Sparkle World Tour as the Kapuso network brings six of the country’s top billing actors and actresses to Canada for a two-day spectacle on April 2024. On April 5 and 7, real-life couples Bianca Umali and Ruru Madrid (RuCa), and Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz (JulieVer), as well as highly touted love team Barbie Forteza and David Licauco (BarDa), will bring all the top-tier fun and spectacular entertainment for all the global Pinoys in Canada.
The show’s April 5 leg will be held at the Southview Alliance Church in Calgary, Alberta, Canada while the Toronto Pavillion in Toronto, Ontario, Canada will host the April 7 festivities. In a report by Aubrey Carampel on “24 Oras” last February 19, ‘Asia's Limitless Star’ Julie Anne San Jose expressed her elation and excitement for the upcoming world tour. “We're very very happy, very excited and looking forward siyempre na magkaroon ulit ng chance na magka-get together kasama ng mga global Pinoys natin doon sa Canada,” she said. “And also, the show will be directed by the one and only Mr. Johnny Manahan,” added Bianca Umali. The show, entitled "Sparkle Goes To Canada", will be hosted by Kapuso comedian Boobay who will be bring an added flavor of laughter and joy to the festivities. Furthering its commitment to a lot more spectacular events and superior entertainment in 2024, the Sparkle World Tour is headlined by the Kapuso network's slate of multi-acclaimed stars.
BarDa’s Barbie Forteza and David Licauco captured the hearts of Kapuso fans when they played Fidel and Klay in GMA Network’s top-rated “Maria Clara at Ibarra". They also portrayed Monique and Carding in the special drama series “Maging Sino Ka Man". BarDa will reprise their pairing in the upcoming war-drama series “Pulang Araw". Real-life couple Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz are all about the sparks and kilig as they have been very vocal about their healthy and supportive relationship which began in 2022. Both are mainstays in the Kapuso Sunday noontime variety show “All-Out Sundays". Julie Anne, dubbed as ‘Asia’s Limitless Star,’ is also part of the Queendom, a powerful singing sextet who’s coming off a successful sold-out “Queendom: Live!” concert last December 2, 2023. Rayver, meanwhile, headlines the ongoing GMA Prime series “Asawa ng Asawa Ko" together with Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Martin del Rosario, and Liezel Lopez. Ruru Madrid and Bianca Umali have been together since 2022. Their first project together in 2023 when they played Liam and Joyce in the romance-fantasy series “The Write One". Primetime Action Hero Ruru Madrid is currently making waves as he portrays Elias Guerrero a.k.a. the “Black Rider” in the top-rated GMA Prime series of the same name. Bianca, meanwhile, has been announced as one of the Sang’gres who will headline the upcoming Encantadia spin-off “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre".
