The Professional Fighters League (PFL) announced that the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah will host 2024 PFL Global Season action on June 21, 2024 with fights in the Lightweight and Light Heavyweight divisions while the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota will host and stage fights in the Welterweight and Featherweight divisions on June 28, 2024.
The main event of PFL's debut in Salt Lake City will feature 2023 PFL Lightweight finalist Clay Collard facing Mads Burnell. June 21st will be a homecoming for Collard who was born and still trains in Utah. One of the most exciting fighters in MMA is fresh off an impressive victory over former Bellator Lightweight Champion Patricky Pitbull. 2023 PFL Light Heavyweight Champion Impa Kasanganay will take on Jakob Nedoh in the co-main event. Elite fighters from the two divisions will be taking to the PFL SmartCage looking to secure 2024 PFL Playoff berths and continue their journeys to PFL World Championship glory and the $1 million prize. “We are excited for the toughest test in MMA, the PFL Global Season, to debut in Salt Lake City. The PFL’s sports season format lends itself to action for fans in attendance and those watching in 160 countries worldwide. 2024 PFL Playoff berths and the chance to continue their $1M journey hang in the balance for these elite athletes," said PFL CEO Peter Murray. It will also feature respective division points leaders Michael Dufort, Brent Primus, Elvin Espinoza, Rob Wilkinson, Josh Silveira and Dovlet Yaghimuradov returning to Global Season action. PFL's debut in the state of South Dakota will feature 2022 PFL Featherweight Champion, the pride of Manchester, Brendan Loughnane facing Justin Gonzales in the main event. Loughnane currently sits atop of the PFL Featherweight standings and will look to secure a trip to the 2024 PFL Playoffs where the chance of another world title and $1M prize awaits. Its co-main event will see South Dakota’s own and Bellator veteran Logan Storley take on Laureano Staropoli. Storley, a Rosyln native who fights out of Webster, SD holding a professional record of 15 wins against only three losses, is looking to enter the PFL Playoffs in his first season with the League. “The toughest test in MMA, the PFL Global Season, is coming to South Dakota for the first time ever. We are delighted to bring the most exciting brand of mixed martial arts, the PFL Global Season, to South Dakota for our final PFL Regular Season event.
