MOONTON Games has officially announced the group draw results of its Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2024 and MLBB Women’s Invitational (MWI) 2024. Both global tournaments will be featured in the upcoming eSports World Cup in Boulevard Riyadh City, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia featuring some of the best and finest MLBB teams from across the globe.
On June 28-29, the inaugural Wild Card Stage will divide eight (8) teams into two groups to play a single round-robin, best-of-one (BO1) match. The matches start at 11:00 am (GMT+3) on both these dates. The results of the Wild Card draw are as follows:
• Group A: Entity7, KeepBest Gaming, S2G eSports, Zino Zenith
• Group B: Brute Force, HomeBois, IHC eSports, Trained To Kill
The top team from each group will enter Phase 2 of the Wild Card – scheduled on June 30, 2024 at 1:00 pm (GMT+3) – to play a BO5 (best of 5) match. The winner of the second phase will proceed to the MSC 2024 Group Stage. Meanwhile, the seven other teams will be eliminated. The winner of the Wild Card Stage proceeds to the Main Stage to compete with 15 other international teams to vie for the most-coveted title. For the Group Stage, the results of the group draw are as follows:
• Group A: Evos Glory, Fireflux eSports, Nip Flash, RRQ Akira
• Group B: Fnatic Onic, See You Soon, Selangor Red Giants, Team Falcons
• Group C: Liquid Echo, Wildcard Qualifier, Twisted Minds, Team Spirit
• Group D: Falcons AP.Bren, Xianyou Gaming, Cloud9, Falcon eSports
On July 3-7, each group will play a single round-robin BO2 (best of two) match wherein the top two ranked teams per group will advance to the Knockout Stage. The two lowest-ranked teams per group will bid goodbye to their MSC 2024 journey. During the Knockout Stage, the top team for each group will play with the top two teams of the other groups, for the Knockout Stage. All matches will follow a BO5 format, and will start at 11:00 am (GMT+3) daily. Meanwhile, the Grand Finals Day will be in a BO7 format, set on July 14 at 1:00 pm (GMT+3). The tournament bracket and schedule are slated to be announced on social media accounts ahead of the upcoming festivities.
On the other hand, MWI 2024 will feature 12 international female MLBB teams and will have two main phases: the Group Stage and Playoffs Stage. All teams will be divided into four groups – A, B, C, D – and will play a single round robin, BO2 match series, on July 24-25, 2024. The results of the Group Stage draw are as follows:
• Group A: Falcons Vega, CFU Serendipity, Cloud 9
• Group B: Smart Omega Empress, Net Angels, DreamMax Girls
• Group C: Falcons Vega Mena, Zino Lilies, Victory Song Gamers
• Group D: Team Vitality, Baimin Gladiators Homegirls, Tidal Legends Gamers
The top two teams of each group will proceed to the Playoffs Stage while the team from each group with the lowest points will end their Playoffs contention. A playoff draw will be conducted where the four top teams from each group will be placed together into pool 1, while the four 2nd-placed teams will be placed into pool 2. The Playoffs Stage will be held on July 26-27. The first day of the Playoffs Stage will be in a single elimination (BO3) format. On the other hand, the second day will be in a single elimination BO5 match series.
