The 2024 Spikers' Turf Invitational Conference is set to ignite the men’s volleyball scene with 10 teams battling for supremacy starting on October 16, 2024 and ending on December 15, 2024. With matches scheduled every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, the conference will be hosted at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, the Philsports Arena, and the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City. The tournament boasts a stacked roster of teams including last season's Invitational Conference runners-up and reigning Open Conference champions Cignal HD Spikers alongside the Criss Cross King Crunchers, D’Navigators Iloilo, and the PGJC Navy Sealions.
Joining them are the Savouge Aesthetics Spin Doctors, VNS Griffins, Chichi DHTSI Titans (formerly Richmarc Sports 3B Elite), Martelli Meats Masters Butcher (formerly Maverick Hard Hitters), and two UAAP powerhouses Far Eastern University-DN Steel Ultras and De La Salle University-EcoOil Green Oilers — who earned their spots by finishing first and second in the 2024 V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge. Spikers' Turf president Alyssa Valdez expressed her excitement about the conference backed by ArenaPlus, Mikasa, and Alpha Insurance & Surety Company, saying, "With 10 teams competing this season including two collegiate squads, fans can expect an exciting tournament. This is a huge opportunity for our athletes to shine, and it will significantly contribute to the continued growth of men's volleyball in the country."
The tournament will kick off on October 16 at Ynares Sports Arena with a doubleheader starting at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Regular matchdays will feature two games at 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm with select tripleheader days offering matches at 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. The preliminary round will have a round-robin format with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals. They will be joined by a guest team for another round-robin setup and the top two teams will face off in a winner-take-all final. "It’s a great development for the sport that we're getting primetime slots. This will boost visibility, helping men’s volleyball gain the recognition and audience it deserves," said Spikers' Turf tournament director Mozzy Ravena. Meanwhile, Cignal TV Inc. Fans can catch all the action live on One Sports on free TV, One Sports+ on pay TV in SD and HD, and through the Pilipinas Live app which will feature video-on-demand content and exclusive features. Matches will also be streamed on the official Spikers’ Turf website and will be available for on-demand viewing on Spikers' Turf's official YouTube channel.
