The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale, the world’s biggest book sale event, is set to make history this November with its first-ever school-based sale in Xavier School entitled “The Big Bad Wolf And The Stallions: A Legendary Exclusive Edition Book Hunt At Xavier“. On November 8-10, 2024, the Xavier School Sports Center in Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila will transform into a book lover’s paradise, offering over a million books at unbeatable prices to students, families, and the local community. This exciting event is a highlight of Xavier School’s annual Grade School Literacy Month celebration, promoting the love of reading and making a wide range of books accessible to young readers. By providing this opportunity, it aims to inspire students to develop a lifelong passion for reading, while reinforcing our commitment to education, literacy, and community engagement.
Xavier School’s mission centers on nurturing individuals who are passionate about justice and equipped with skills for personal and societal growth. This commitment aligns perfectly with Big Bad Wolf’s mission to “change the world one book at a time” by ensuring affordable access to literature for all. By fostering knowledge and personal development, Big Bad Wolf empowers individuals to reach their potential, regardless of background or circumstance. “We are thrilled to be holding the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale at Xavier School, an institution that shares our passion for education and literacy. Working with the Xavier School community, particularly their dedicated alumni, has been an inspiring journey for us. This partnership reflects our shared mission of making books more accessible and promoting a love for reading,” said Big Bad Wolf Books founder Andrew Yap. Organized as a fundraising project by Xavier School Batch 2000, this event marks a significant milestone for Big Bad Wolf Books as it is the first time the sale is being hosted at a school, creating an enriching and accessible experience for all attendees. Part of the proceeds will support Xavier School’s supported scholarship and medical foundations as well as the school library.
“We’re incredibly excited about this collaboration with Big Bad Wolf. For us, it’s more than just hosting a book sale — it’s about promoting literacy, fostering a love for reading, and supporting the educational journey of current and future Xavierians. This event is a celebration of everything we believe in as a community," said Daniel Perez of Xavier School Batch 2000. The partnership between the Alumni Association of Xavier School, represented by President Daniboy Balanzat and Xavier School Batch 2000 representatives Daniel Perez, Andrew Uy Tan, and Emerson Co, and Big Bad Wolf Books, represented by Philippine Managing Partner Carol Chuaying and Project Director Ley Almeda, was formalized through a signed agreement. This marks a meaningful collaboration and the beginning of another legacy event for Xavier School. The Big Bad Wolf And The Stallions will be open to the public on November 9-10, 2024, from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, offering an unforgettable experience. With an incredible range of books, this event promises to be a meaningful and impactful celebration of reading and education.
