After having produced stellar films in its first iteration, Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival takes it up a notch even higher for its second run as it ensures that its roster of Filipino films is prepared to shine on streaming platforms. Through its partnership with Terminal Six Post (T6) which is a well-known name in the industry of post-production for delivering exceptional quality films and series to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, Puregold CinePanalo once again strengthens its commitment to delivering world-class Filipino storytelling, not just in theaters, but in Filipino homes all over the world.

Premier post-production house T6 has a proven track record of excellence with over 160 films and series gracing cinemas and global streaming platforms. Renowned for its comprehensive suite of services including editing, sound design, color grading, visual effects, and film distribution, the studio will guarantee that Puregold CinePanalo films will not only meet, but exceed the rigorous standards required by streaming platforms like Netflix and Prime Video. To support the initiative, T6 has promised to offer exclusive discounted rates on its state-of-the-art services to the eight full-length films participating in Puregold CinePanalo, committing to oversee the final assembly and Digital Cinema Package (DCP) creation for each film including quality assurance (QA) that films are technically-ready for theatrical release and digital streaming. T6 Chairman and President Chad Vidanes excitedly shared the company's thoughts on this collaboration, saying, “We laud the effort of Puregold CinePanalo and want to be part of the creation of beautiful and heartwarming Filipino films. It has always been part of our goal to produce technically excellent work, and this is another opportunity to do that meaningfully and share it on such a large scale, in the cinema and through streaming platforms.” Puregold is likewise extremely grateful for this partnership as Puregold Price Club Inc. Senior Marketing Manager Ivy Hayagan-Piedad shares, “We believe that the films of Puregold CinePanalo should be no less than excellent as they carry within them the narratives of Filipino joy and culture. So we thank T6 for generously sharing their competence and expertise with us, helping our films reach an even wider audience.” In addition, T6 will be hosting a one-day post-production workshop for filmmakers that is slated to cover vital topics such as long-term archiving, preparing films for promotion and distribution after their festival run. As part of the partnership, Terminal Six Post will be credited in the closing credits of all participating films and will likewise present special awards to selected festival participants.

On the other hand, the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival eventually announced another groundbreaking partnership set to support its student filmmakers participating in the Festival’s Student Shorts category as MFP Rentals, an upstart local audiovisual equipment rental services company, has generously announced its support and pledged to sponsor equipment rental services worth a total minimum value of Php100,000 free to use for all 25 student short film entries. The partnership is a first for the CinePanalo Film Festival as the inaugural event did not feature any equipment subsidy for the participants in the student shorts category. Now, through the partnership between Puregold and MFP Rentals, the 25 student filmmakers no longer need to shell out a part of their Php150,000 grant on equipment and can, instead, allocate their funding towards perfecting their cinematic vision. On this collaboration, Hayagan-Piedad shared the company’s gratitude for allowing student filmmakers to give their all without worrying about equipment funding, saying, “The student shorts category of the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival was designed to give an opportunity to passionate young directors itching for a chance to show the world their panalo stories. Thanks to MFP Rentals, our student filmmakers now have significantly more resources to make that happen.” Meanwhile, for MFP Rentals owner Mark Tristan Cua, the lease of the audiovisual equipment was a no-brainer given the advocacy of the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival in supporting the dreams of student filmmakers. “After seeing the success of last year’s Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival, we knew that MFP Rentals needed to be a part of the next one, and we believed that supporting the entrants of the students’ shorts category was the best way we could lend a hand,” said Cua. For Cua, the opportunity to help aspiring filmmakers has always been his personal goal. Outside of MFP Rentals, Cua is the proud founder of the Mobile Filmmaking Philippines online community where filmmakers can learn from each other, allowing young and aspiring filmmakers to find affordable equipment services. He added, “It’s difficult to be a student filmmaker in the Philippines, and having more space in one’s budget can go a long way. We hope that through MFP Rentals’ assistance, these talented young artists can focus their budget on making the film of their dreams, instead of spending a lot of money just on equipment.” In addition to the equipment rentals, MFP Rentals will also engage in a technical discussion with the Director of Photography of each student short film prior to the submission of any technical equipment requests. This serves the purpose of allowing MFP Rentals to tailor its assistance to the unique creative vision of each student short film project.

Puregold CinePanalo aims to support the Filipino movie industry by providing financial grants and other opportunities such as a grand Awards Night and special accolades featuring different categories to showcase the works of amateur and professional filmmakers. This year, the initiative will grant eight full-length films full production support, giving a platform to emerging talent and further enriching the Philippine cinema landscape. The film festival also recently partnered with another industry leader, CMB Film Services Inc., which is committed to granting Php1,000,000 worth of equipment rental to the selected Puregold CinePanalo full-length films. Meanwhile, Puregold recently announced the list of 25 student filmmakers who will be receiving the Php150,000 production grant as well as the recently-announced assistance by MFP Rentals and all of Puregold’s other official production partners for the CinePanalo Film Festival. The upcoming film festival will feature student filmmakers from universities across the country including the University of the Philippines, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, University of Caloocan City, and even universities from outside Metro Manila like Central Philippine University, Dalubhasaan ng Lungsod ng San Pablo, the University of San Carlos, and Faith Colleges, and National University Laguna. The Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival is set to begin on March 2025 with the Awards Night to be held on March 19, 2025. Each of the student short filmmakers will have a chance to compete for the festival’s top awards including the awards for best film and best director.
