The much-anticipated medical drama “Doc” has debuted in the Philippines last January 13, 2025 and is slated to air every Monday night exclusively on AXN Asia. With an emotionally gripping storyline and a stellar cast, this series promises to deliver the drama, suspense, and heart that viewers crave. Based on the internationally acclaimed Italian series “Doc – Nelle Tue Mani”, this US adaptation brings a fresh perspective to the medical drama genre. The show follows the journey of Dr. Amy Larsen, the hard-charging and brilliant Chief of Internal Medicine at Westside Hospital, played by Emmy-nominated actress Molly Parker.
Dr. Larsen’s life takes an unexpected turn when a traumatic brain injury erases the last eight years of her memory. Now, she must relearn how to navigate her personal and professional life while grappling with forgotten patients, colleagues, and a past filled with both love and heartbreak. Her journey is not without challenges, but she finds solace in her estranged 17-year-old daughter and a few steadfast friends. The series features a talented ensemble cast, including:
• Omar Metwally as Dr. Michael Hamda, Amy’s ex-husband and the compassionate Chief Medical Officer. Michael works hard to bring humanity back to the business of medicine. While driven in his career, Michael has always put his family first. And even though his marriage fell apart, he’s still an excellent Dad and does his best to manage his complicated relationship with his Amy.
• Jon Ecker as Dr. Jake Heller, Amy’s secret boyfriend and Chief Resident, whose life is now a mystery to her. While Jake is warm and fun to be around, he keeps a lot close to the vest, including his troubled upbringing and his strained relationship with his ex-wife Rachel with whom he has a daughter.
• Patrick Walker as Dr. Theodore “TJ”, a first-year resident deeply inspired by Amy’s resilience. When Amy returns to work after her accident, TJ, now basically her equal, will have her back and prove fiercely dedicated to helping his role model navigate the challenges as she faces her future.
• Amirah Vann as Dr. Gina Walker, Amy’s best friend and physician, who struggles with the balance between loyalty and professional boundaries.
• Scott Wolf as Dr. Richard Miller, Amy’s former friend and now professional rival. He and Amy were once friends, until she “stole” the coveted position of Chief from him. After her accident, he’s back in the top job.
• Anna Banerjee as Dr. Sonya Maitra, a resident whose complex relationship with Amy evolves after the accident. She hates the way Amy has treated her and others at the hospital. But when tasked with taking care of Amy after her accident, she starts to see another side to the boss she detests.
“Doc” isn’t just another medical drama — it’s a deeply human story of resilience, love, and redemption. The series explores profound themes like memory, identity, and the power of human connection. Its mix of emotional storytelling and high-stakes medical scenarios ensures that viewers will be on the edge of their seats every Monday night.
