The much-awaited return of Sayaw Filipinas at De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) set the stage ablaze last February 26, 2025, marking its 22nd year as a powerful celebration of dance as an art form and a cultural bridge. This iconic festival has brought together local, national, and international artists, highlighting the rich diversity of dance styles — from traditional Filipino folk dances to contemporary and experimental forms. After a five-year hiatus, Sayaw Filipinas made a triumphant comeback, reflecting DLSL's unwavering commitment to fostering artistic exchange, cultural inclusivity, and professional growth within the world of dance. This year's event not only celebrated over two decades of cultural impact but also showcased the vibrant arts and culture environment that thrives within the DLSL community.

The festival featured mesmerizing performances from RTPact, Intensity Breakers, Jr. Aligma, Aligma, Chippettes, Rhapsody, The Battler’ Un Crew (The BUC Fam) and DLSL’s very own dance group Salindayaw. Each group captivated the audience with their powerful movements, innovative choreography, and heartfelt storytelling. Their performances beautifully illustrated the fusion of tradition and modernity, embodying the Filipino spirit's rich cultural variety. The event was designed to showcase a broad spectrum of dance genres including traditional Filipino Dances that paid homage to indigenous movements and regional traditions, preserving the legacy of Filipino heritage; Contemporary and Modern Dance pieces that bridged the past and present, reflecting the evolution of dance as a dynamic art form; and Experimental and Fusion Performances that seamlessly integrated global influences, revealing the future possibilities of dance as a universal language.

Each performance was accompanied by meaningful narrations that offered cultural context, allowing the audience to appreciate the significance of every piece. Beyond the mesmerizing performances, Sayaw Filipinas has served as a platform for cultural exchange and collaboration since 1998. The dance festival gathered performers, choreographers, cultural representatives, and sponsors, facilitating dialogues that celebrated artistic journeys, shared cultural perspectives, and fostered new partnerships. The festival not only strengthened connections within the local and international dance community but also paved the way for future workshops and cross-cultural projects.

The 22nd Sayaw Filipinas was a testament to the power of dance to transcend boundaries, connect people, and celebrate the beauty of diverse cultural expressions. It was a night filled with passion, artistry, and unity — a true reflection of De La Salle Lipa's vibrant arts and culture environment. As the lights dimmed and the echoes of applause lingered, one thing was clear — Sayaw Filipinas is back, and its legacy continues to dance on.
