The Professional Fighters League (PFL) announced that the upcoming PFL Europe Brussels event on July 5, 2025 at the ING Arena will feature Belgium’s own Patrick “The Belgian Bomber” Habirora (6-0), who will make his first ever professional MMA appearance in his home country. Joining him on the card will be his countryman and teammate Boris “Modern Gladiator” Mbarga Atangana (5-0) who promises to take the company by storm in his PFL debut.
Habirora boasts a flawless record with five of his six victories coming by way of KO/TKO thanks to a devastating striking skillset which has led to the Belgian’s quick ascension to becoming a fan favourite. Atangana looks to follow in Habirora’s footsteps, who shares a similarly destructive record, with all five of his professional victories ending before the final bell. Atangana has stated that PFL will never be the same now he has arrived, and looks to back his bold statements in Brussels. In the co-main event will be the new PFL signing Taylor "Double Impact" Lapilus (21-4) whose recent run of dominance with eight wins in his last nine fights has made him a true phenom in the Bantamweight division. He will go up against the 2024 PFL MENA Bantamweight Champion Ali Taleb (12-1), a fighter with ferocious knockout power and only one loss in his professional career, which will prove to be a true contest of the world’s best at 135 lbs. “It’s always been my dream to bring a major global MMA organization to Belgium. Something that’s never been done before. I’ve always had to fight abroad, carry the flag far from home, and prove myself outside my country. But now, it’s finally time to come back, on 5 July. Time to come home. This isn’t just another fight. This is something special. For my people. For my country. For every Belgian who’s been supporting me since day one. I’m preparing something incredible for you all. And I truly can’t wait for that day to come because it’s going to be historic,” said Habirora.
“PFL is making its first ever trip to Brussels, and we are going to put on a show in the ING Arena for the people of Belgium like nothing they’ve seen before. We have an absolute star on our hands with Patrick Habirora, and his fans are going to erupt when they see him make his first ever walk as a professional fighter in his home country of Belgium. Stay tuned, as we’re going to stack this card with elite fights such as our co-main event between Taylor Lapilus and Ali Taleb, and more Belgian athletes are set to be added. Get your tickets, because we’re going to make history,” said PFL Chief Executive Officer Pete Murray. Also on the card will be the first round of the PFL Europe Bantamweight Tournament featuring athletes from six different countries looking to start their path towards the Championship and $100,000. PFL Europe Brussels will be exclusively broadcast in Belgium, France, UK and Ireland on DAZN, the global home of MMA, boxing, European football, women’s football, and the NFL (excluding USA). DAZN is building the ultimate sports entertainment platform based on premium sports rights, world-leading technology, and multi-platform distribution.
