KC Global Media co-founders Andy Kaplan (Chairman) and George Chien (President and CEO) have officially joined Rein Entertainment’s Drug War: A Conspiracy Of Silence as Executive Producers. KC Global Media will also oversee worldwide sales and promotional efforts for this highly anticipated project emerging from the Philippines. Set during the turbulent Duterte administration, the six-part 40-45 minute series delivers a poignant and compelling portrayal of everyday life during one of the most impactful and polarizing political periods in Southeast Asia’s recent history. 

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Shugo Praico who is known for his work on Bagman (2019), the series features an impressive cast including Ian Veneracion who won the Best Actor award at the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival for his performance in Rein Entertainment’s A Silent Night (Nanahimik Ang Gabi). Joining him are Harvey Bautista known for his role in Pushcart Tales (2024), Jane Oineza known for her role in Amazon Prime’s Cattleya Killer, and the internationally acclaimed actor John Arcilla who is the first Filipino to win the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival for his role in On The Job (2021). “At KC Global Media, we’re committed to elevating authentic Asian stories to the global stage. Visa And Maya Launch Cross-Border Funding Solution For Foreign-Issued Visa Cards

T/SQUARED Enters Into Commercial Partnership With Riot Games’ EMEA eSports Division

Leading video game developer, publisher and eSports tournament organizer Riot Games has entered into a strategic, regional commercial partnership with T/SQUARED, the marketing agency set up in 2023 by the TEAM Group to explore new business opportunities. T/SQUARED will support Riot Games’ EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) eSports business development division based in Berlin, Germany with sponsorship sales for its two core EMEA eSports products - the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) and the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) EMEA. 

Riot Games’ debut title, League of Legends (LoL), was launched in 2009 and has gone on to be one of the most-played PC games in the world. The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) is the biggest annual LoL eSports competition in EMEA and has partnership agreements with a number of major brands including Kia, KitKat, Red Bull and LG UltraGear. Meanwhile, VALORANT, released in 2020, is one of the fastest growing video games globally. The VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) EMEA, which was launched in 2023, is the pinnacle of VALORANT eSports in the region. VCT EMEA recently revealed Paysafe as a Main Partner for the league until 2025 and also has an agreement with Red Bull. T/SQUARED will serve as the commercial partner for all LEC and VCT EMEA events and the corresponding broadcast feeds produced by or on behalf of Riot Games.

OPPO Licenses Cellular Standard-Essential Patents To Volkswagen Group for Connected Vehicles

Leading smart device company OPPO recently announced the signing of a global patent licensing agreement with Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft (hereafter referred to as Volkswagen) to license OPPO’s cellular standard-essential patents portfolio to the group, including 5G. Under the agreement, OPPO’s cellular standard-essential patents will be licensed to Volkswagen to enhance user experiences for its connected vehicle offerings across its global product lineup.

Disney Cruise Line And Marvel Comics Join Forces For A High-Seas Adventure In Exclusive New Comic

Disney Cruise Line and Marvel Comics recently announced a new Special Edition of Amazing Adventures #1 — an all-original 32-page collectors’ comic featuring Spider-Man, the Avengers, and a host of Marvel’s finest Super Heroes — many who will be found onboard the Disney Adventure. This ultra-limited-edition release has been specially created to celebrate the inaugural season of the Disney Adventure which begins in December 2025. Complimentary copies of the Amazing Adventures comic will be made available exclusively to all guests in their staterooms on board selected sailings. 

The Amazing Adventures Special Edition 2025 comic will be authored and illustrated by a team led by writer Alyssa Wong who is recognized for their work on the 2020 Marvel comic book series Star Wars: Doctor Aphra and the 2022 Deadpool comic book series. Marvel Comics will also team up with legendary comic book artist Leinil Francis Yu, who has extensive experience illustrating Marvel characters – including co-creating the first Filipino Marvel Super Hero Wave – to provide cover art for this exclusive comic book. Disney Cruise Line and Marvel Comics are also providing a first look at the cover art, which includes well-known Marvel characters such as Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Thor, which guests can expect to see during their Disney Adventure cruise vacation.
