Lasallian Storytelling Returns To The Big Screen With Cineberde Rewind

The cinematic stage is once again set as De La Salle Lipa (DLSL)'s Bachelor of Arts in Communication (ABComm) Department proudly presents Cineberde Rewind: Ang Naging Kulay Ng Indie Dine. After years of hiatus brought by the global COVID-19 pandemic, the courageous independent film festival tradition returns to the silver screen on October 4, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at SM City Lipa Cinema 3. This year’s Cineberde Rewind promises a vibrant showcase of artistry and advocacy through nine alumni thesis films — a celebration of storytelling that is uniquely Lasallian, socially relevant, and regionally rooted. 

A Lineup Of Vision And Voice
The official entries span short films, documentaries, radio dramas, and online discussions, each carrying its own color or unique perspective: 
• IFYKYK – Short Film | Cupal Productions
• Ang Estado ng Kontraktwalisasyon sa Pilipinas at mga Epekto nito sa Ekonomiya – Online Discussion | Studio Orion Productions
• Alon – Radio Drama | Ayo-Cue Productions
• Puno’t Dulo ng Bahaghari – Documentary | MAGIK Studios
• Ang Kwento ni Mang Willy – Short Film | COMMute Productions
• Manipis na Ipis – Short Film | Play Time Productions
• Mga Dalaga ng Prusisyon – Radio Drama | Green Tea Productions
• Sa Aplaya, Doon, Sa Malayo – Documentary | A5 Productions
• Sa Likod ng Banal na Tanglaw – Short Film | Bahaghari Productions
Among these, two documentaries have already made their mark in the national scene: “Sa Aplaya, Doon, Sa Malayo” by A5 Productions which won Best Documentary and Best Story (Young Adult Division) at the DokyuBata: Isang Pagdiriwang ng Dokumentaryong Pantelebisyon Para sa Batang Pilipino organized by the National Council for Children’s Television and “Puno’t Dulo ng Bahaghari” by MAGIK Studios earning a finalist spot at the Sinag Maynila Film Festival. These accolades underscore the caliber of DLSL ABComm productions, proving that student-led projects can spark national conversations and gain recognition from respected institutions.

Since its inception in 2009, Cineberde has been more than just a festival — it is a training ground where academic rigor meets creative exploration. Each film is a culmination of thesis work, thoughtfully crafted through intensive research, collaboration, and a deep commitment to amplifying voices that matter. Over the years, DLSL ABComm productions have gained attention and accolades from prestigious festivals and award-giving bodies, including Cinemalaya, Gawad Urian, Gawad CCP para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video, Sinag Maynila, PELIKULTURAL, Maginhawa Film Festival, and the Metro Manila Film Festival, among others. This consistent recognition affirms DLSL’s position as a leading film school in CALABARZON, producing graduates who excel both in artistry and in advocacy.
